An elegant gift pen - for others, or yourself.
I've had a Waterman Hemisphere ballpoint for years, and when my daughter got a new job I wanted to give her a gift to celebrate so I gave her one. It's a great pen, an elegant fairly narrow size, writes great, looks great. Anyone who takes mine out of my study suffers my wrath. One thing I will say, is: check the price history. This pen seems to have wide swings in price. After I bought the one for my daughter I was looking for another one but the price had gone up significantly, only to come back down periodically. Buy low, sell high.

It's a bit too slim for me
It looks good and it seems to be well built. It's just somewhat too slim. I would use it to write some stuff on a paper, or write some things, but not to take notes in a class or a conference, for example.

Packaging more impressive than product (first impressions)
Packaging seems to be where most of the cost comes from with this pen. I look forward to putting it through a few weeks of intense writing to see how it holds up, but so far as my first impression… nothing special here.
