I used these bulbs for about 2-3 years. They were reasonably easy to install, reset and use. Then they all stopped working. They still work as regular lights but cannot be controlled through Alexa. So what is the point of spending $15-$20 on a bulb?

The 9W bulbs are much brighter than the 7W bulbs. I put four 9W bulbs in my outdoor sockets around the house. To my surprise, they all were able to connect to my WiFi even though the bulbs were far from router. However, after 5 weeks, one bulb began to fail. It would turn on and off by itself. I followed all trouble shooting instructions provided by support team, who were responsive, but could not fix bulb. But they would not honor manufacturing 18 month warranty and directed me to return to the seller, which was amazon. Amazon return policy is 30 days on this product, and bulb failed at 35 days after purchasing. I’m still trying to get magic lightbulb to send replacement bulb per their warranty...Update September 15: Customer Support ([email protected]) responded and authorized replacement bulb. I received it today and it is up and working. Hopefully I just got one bad bulb and the other three 9W bulbs continue there great job illuminating the outside of the house. Now I can not only set timer for the group of four lights to come on after sunset, but I can also set the group color to correspond to holidays.If magic light continues to honor its 18 month warranty, these smart bulbs are a great value!

I have 7 of these bulbs plus 10 of the recessed lighting bulbs, 2 RGBW led controllers and 3 white-light-only controllers and they are so handy. The 10 recessed are more for fun in my basement around my bar (along with the two RGBW controllers) but come in handy when watching a movie (I set most to dim blue. Enough to see but still dark enough for the movie)The others are handy to have. 2 white bulbs and the white controllers control lights over my sink and under cabinet lights in the kitchen. I have timers set to come on and off for my wife in the morning. Timers set for living room lights and we use them to creat holiday lights around Xmas and Halloween.Then the other two are on end tables in our bedroom. Again, very dim blue we use after she goes to bed so I can see when I come home from work without waking her up.Lastly, I did have an issue with two of my bulbs over my sink. I contacted customer service however and they were more than helpful and resolved my issue.

The original reason I wanted to purchase this bulb was to make a more affordable sunrise alarm clock. It has proven to be so useful in so many other ways, I immediately ordered 2 more bulbs after setting up my first bulb.• Incredibly easy setup, just screw it into your lamp, download the app, and then follow the guided instructions on the app.• The app is very straightforward and easy to use. It has so many features that allow to you control the atmosphere of your room without leaving the comfort of your seat.**It also saves the last settings you set before closing the app on your phone, so you don’t have to keep the app open all the time to use the bulbs!• Sunrise/Sunset timer - much more afforable than a $100 sunrise alarm clock, you can set multiple alarms with different settings (brightness/intervals/days of the week) which is a setting that most of the alarm clocks don’t have, and since it’s silent, you can have your own alarms on your phone to make noise or just wake up naturally without an alarm sound.•Turning on lights remotely - I live in an apartment where there are minimal ceiling lights and none of the switches for them are near entrances, so being able to turn lights on before coming home makes it so much more convenient without stumbling in the dark. This is also helpful if it starts to get darker earlier in the winter before you get home and you want to provide some light for your pets while you’re not home.• Affordable alternative to lamp timers to deter home intruders when you’re not home.• Mood lighting - using this with lower brightness and a soft colored glow definitely helps you to relax and start to get tired before bed. You can sit in bed and adjust the settings without hassle.I’m definitely never buying a regular lightbulb again after experiencing the convenience of these bulbs. I would definitely love to replace all the bulbs in my home with these and highly recommended them to everyone.

I have purchased two of these bulbs about 5 months apart.The Good:- Inexpensive. The price of these bulbs can't be beat.- No hub required. There's no need for a hub to control these bulbs, like with Philips hue bulbs. You can set their state from the app or voice assistant. I have found them to work well with Home Assistant, which I use to automatically turn them on, chance color, etc.- The colors look good. I use these bulbs for accent lighting, as they're not terribly bright.- Easy to set-up. The iOs app works well. See below for my experience with Android.The Bad:- The Android app has issues. In the 5 months between when I purchased my first and second bulbs, the Android app (MagicLight WF) was updated. I found that I was unable to get my second bulb to connect to WiFi, despite following the instructions closely and resetting the bulb a dozen times. When I finally tried using my iPad to set the bulb up, it connected to my home network immediately and flawlessly.I found the set-up process with the second bulb so frustrating that I have to give this product a 4 star rating. If I wasn't able to use another device (iPad) to connect the bulb to my network, it would have been useless to me.
