Fantastic product, and NO IT’S NOT the wrong color.
Right off the bat you might think they sent you the wrong color when you get it, but trust me it’s not. We ordered the one that looks clear and has prismatic colored effects in it. When it arrived it looked smoked on the roll, like tint for car windows. We decided to install it anyway, thinking it’s just for a bathroom so it doesn’t matter all that much. Turns out once it is unrolled and installed it is the right color. It’s not tinted at all, is very clear and translucent, and has the colored prismatic effects just like we wanted. Installation is pretty easy. The instructions said to clean the window, then spray water on the glass, then peel the backing off of the film and apply it to the glass and use a credit card to smooth out the ripples. Only thing I lacked was a spray bottle so I just used a wet rag to wet the glass and then applied the film. That worked great. For trimming to size I just rolled the film out and cut it to the exact length needed for the window width. I used a metal ruler as a guide and just used a pocket knife along the edge to cut the film. It cuts easily. I figured I’d cut one length exact so I don’t have to trim it two directions once on the window. You have to cut it anyway to remove it from the roll, so just cut it exactly to length. Then I pressed the film onto the glass, and being cut exactly to length it fits side to side just right, and then I had the top edge all the way up, so that means it fit perfectly on three sides. All I had to do was trim the final side. I use the credit card to smooth out the air bubbles and then press the final side tightly against the window frame and use my pocket knife to cut it for a pretty smooth fit. The final result looks amazing.

Useful and a good value.
I've included pictures from inside and outside, day and night. The window film is just about perfect based on what I expected. They look a lot like Venetian blinds and give a decent amount of privacy. Because of the gaps between the stripes, of course you can see through a bit (especially if the other side of the screen is brighter than the side you are on), but that's to be expected. I like that I can still see who's on my porch if I need to, and it's not completely blocked off. As far as installation, I didn't have too difficult a time installing this. It was almost exactly the right width so I just needed to trim off the edge with a knife. I used Windex to clean the window first, then sprayed both the window and the film with a spray bottle of lots of plain water. It went on well, and I used a plastic card as a squeegee to push the bubbles to the edge. This worked fine and I was able to eliminate all the bubbles. Some people have mentioned that when they ordered this, it came with vertical stripes and not horizontal stripes. This wasn't the case for me. I got horizontal ones. If I hadn't, I had planned to cut the film up and put it up with horizontal stripes anyway, but it wasn't necessary. I'm quite happy with this. I had Venetian blinds on that door before, but the cats kept destroying them. This, they won't break. And because of the clear stripes between the frosted ones, the kitties can still see out!

Mildly frustrating to install, but looks great!
Looks and functions great! We needed something to block the view from our dog who normally barks at everything that walks by, and it works for that purpose. The fun 3D effect looks really great too, especially when back lit. Light sources on the other side of it create a trippy block of color. Especially cool when then a moving light passes by, such as headlights. We love it. Docking 1 star because installation was a little tough—measuring and cutting large pieces perfectly straight was tough (one of our panels doesn’t quite reach edge to edge bc I cut it badly), but eventually figured out it’s better to cut a few centimeters bigger and trim down with an exactly knife once it’s on the window. Definitely needed to add soap to the water spray mix. A large squeegee also makes removing bubbles a lot easier (we had a 6 inch one that we gave for cleaning in our shower). Messed up on one panel by accidentally letting the sticky sides touch each other after removing the backing film, but wetting it helped to separate it again. Price was a little better than alternatives.

Beautiful but flawed. One area was hazy and makes the window look dirty/smudged
*** update: I bought a new roll, and it is perfect! I'm so thrilled with how this looks on my window! We installed it horizontally, because the width it comes in was not wide enough for it to go on in one piece vertically. It now looks like embedded blinds. I love love love it!!! Installing it was easy, if tedious, and it blocks the ugly view from the widow. Kind of filters the light coming in, but does not block it. Thank you! I'm so pleased! I was originally upset that it is too narrow to be installed as shown but it turned out great horizontally. If you really want the vertical look you have to find a roll that is wide enough for the window. I think they might have wider sizes, so maybe that would work. Otherwise, you'd have to line up a seam - which I found too difficult to attempt personally. I would suggest that the manufacturer show the horizontal application in their ads, for full transparency. Now I have finally applied the film to the lower window and I'm less thrilled with the way it turned out due to an area of discoloration that existed as soon as we unrolled it. It's a semicircular area about 5" in diameter that is hazy rather than clear. The few little air bubbles are my fault, but the hazy discoloration was present as I rolled out the film. This would have been a 5 star product, but this particular roll must have slipped through the QC process. Unfortunate to say the least. I would have returned it and bought a new one, but the return window had closed by the time we were able to use the product. I wish I had opened it the day it arrived.

Good looking functional privacy film
I love it! Has a slight shimmer, and does not completely block the view (you can still see between the frost lines). Easy to apply.

Doesn't stick
I have used this product previously on some other windows and they're fine. This last roll I purchased doesn't stick for longer than a couple hours no matter what I do. I did some home repairs and didn't get to use it for a couple weeks and when I did it will not stick, five times I put it up and give times it fell down within a few hours. Now I can't return it or exchange it because they only give 30 days for this item.

Allows for great lighting, rainbow experience for the kids
Lightness in weight. Easy to install. Looks great very functional allows. The light to enter into the kids room without the outside being able to look into their. I would definitely say very functional. Adhesive quality very good considering all you have to do is clean your window spray a little mist of water on both the film in the glass and then squeegee the access out. If you’re covering a sliding glass door like I had to I had to get four rolls because the size that I got wasn’t large enough, but still turned out great.

The BEST Window Film I've Ever Used
This Coavas window film looks great and DEFINITELY cuts down the heat from the sun--and holds in the heat when it's cold outside. I love that you still feel you can see some of the outdoors, you get a good amount of light in the room, but you're not living in a fishbowl for the neighbors. I can walk around in my undies and not frighten the neighbors. With window films, thickness or thinness is a big deal. This one hits the sweet spot: It isn't so thin that it keeps folding back on itself and sticking while you're working with it, and it isn't so thick that it looks like plastic junk on your window or smells like toxic vinyl when it heats up in the sun. It also separates more easily from the backing compared to others. I found this Coavas window film super-easy to hang, compared with all the others I've used. MY HANGING METHOD (same as everyone's until step 5): I have those pricey vinyl windows and don't want a razor knife near them for trimming... (1) Squirt water all over the clean window, (2) Place a guesstimated-sized piece of window file against the window, and (3) Smooth out most of the air bubbles with the rubber side of a plastic wallpaper smoother. Then (4) Slide the plastic edge of the smoother along each outside edge of the window at the same time you (5) Slide a ballpoint pen between the edge of the smoother and the edge of the window. You wind up with penlines on all four sides of the glass. They don't quite make it to the corners, because the smoother doesn't quite make it there. Then, (6) Lift each side of the window film away from the glass and cut CAREFULLY along the lines with good scissors (7) Spray more water and reapply the film, and move to the next side. (8) Literally pat yourself on the back to celebrate what a good job you did!
