As the adverts say, it does as it says on the label. We have been using these for many years as we live in a hard water area. Must remember to re0lace every month if you too l8ve in an area like I do

I've been using this Optima water filter for a couple of decades, mostly for my coffee water. I change filters several times a year. A bit less often than the recommended 12 weeks. The pitcher itself has ugly water stains after so many years of use, so I assume my Los Angeles water isn't so great. Yet the water seems to taste fine coming out of this filter. It used to take a while for the water to pass through this Optima filter, but the newest version of this filter (same size and fit) allows the water to pass through quicker.
