Ester-C w/Citrus Bioflavonoids Capsules, 500mg, 120ct

I have tried other brands of C vitamins finding these to be very easy on the tummy. Great quality and a recommended dose is just right. The pill is easy to swallow and the ingredients are top of the line not leaving anything out. The duration they last is 2 per day which is perfect to take in the morning and not having to think about another dose until the next day. Texture is just like other capsules that are meant to be swallowed whole. Highly recommended!!

I am 79 years old, and 6 years ago I was diagnosed as have osteoporosis. Since then, I have been taking a bone supplement that includes calcium and this ester-c. I have had the bone density test every other year as suggested by my doctor, and each time, my bone density has increased rather than decrease as I got older. At this point, I no longer have osteoporosis, but have been diagnosed as having osteopenia rather than osteoporosis. I am hopeful that my bone density continues to increase as I get older with continued use of these supplements. Although a vitamin C supplement may also work for this purpose, ester-c is supposed to have a better bioavailabilty and is easier on the stomach since it is less acidic. To-date, this supplement has not upset my stomach, and my bone density tests suggest that it is effective. Having done my research before taking this supplement, this is rated as a good brand and is of good quality. This supplement is a large capsule, but is easier to swallow than some of the other supplements I take. I do recommend this supplement and hope this review was helpful for you.

I take 1000 mg (1 gram) of this product twice per day. How much you may need may vary according to your weight and other factors. I am a male who weighs 185 pounds. The 500mg capsules are the best value. I do not recommend the caplets/tablets, as I have not had as good of results with them. I began taking Ester-C after reading articles about how it was used to help improve the lives of large breed dogs that had hip dysplasia problems. At the time I was suffering from a lot of lower back pain, and I did not want to take typical OTC pain relievers. I found that it takes 2-3 weeks for this product to begin to alleviate pain. For me, it truly has reduced pain! I have also learned from my experience, that if you discontinue the use of the Ester-C, the pain returns in about 2-3 weeks. So, it apparently has some residual qualities. If you take too much it will cause the runs, so be forewarned! While I primarily take Ester-C for back pain, it does also help with hip and other joint pains. My primary, go to, supplement for arthritic joint pains is Boswellia Extract (I use Nature's Answer brand). Taking the Ester-C and the Boswellia Extact in combination leaves me feeling as nimble as someone much younger than my 55 years old. I am hoping to avoid the pain and mobility issues that are now crippling my aging father. So, I will continue to take and recommend these products. I believe that Ester-C has many other health benefits, but the pain relief is the most noteworthy one IMHO. I have experience zero negatives, other than it can cause the runs (as mentioned previously). I recommended it to my sister, and it has helped reduce her joint pains too.

This type of vitamin c prevents stomach acid in me.

I like that these are NON-ACIDIC and don't cause unnecessary stomach issues. These are a good alternative to inexpensive ascobic acid products that don't digest easily. I only use these at the onset of a cold, because 500 mg is way more than anyone can absorb in a day, it won't hurt you, but you'll have very expensive urine. 500 mg of Vitamin C is 7x grater than the 70 mg. RDA for women 12+, and >5x greater than the 90 mg. Mg. RDA of Vitamin C for men 12+. If there was a 100 mg version , I would buy it and use it daily. Note: CITRUS BIOFLAVONOIDS from a more potent STANDARDIZED EXTRACT can bolster gastrointestinal functioning and health. They are ANTI-INFLAMMATORY and may help support clear vision, UNFORTUNATELY the ones included in THIS product are NOT a STANDARDIZED extract. That means their STRENGTH and potential EFFECTIVENESS for these benefits are QUESTIONABLE at best! The weak citrus bioflavonoids included should at very least help Vitamin C absorbtion and buffer it from initial oxidation.

It’s misleading :( the product pictured without the full details. There is gelatin in this product, it’s listed under ‘the other ingredients; however this information is not shown in the Product Description??!!! I am very disappointed, I might have to return this item unless I specify the source of gelatin
