We purchased this as a holiday gift for a woman who seems to have everything. She loves to cook, so we paired it with a book on the history of salt. It was a hit! She is still raving about it and these salts! Well-packaged and presentable, we would not hesitate to purchase again. If you have a cook in your life, or enjoy cooking yourself, these salts are a fun way to play around with your food and come up with new recipes or add an unexpected "kick" to existing ones.

The birch smoked salt is the show stopper here. Wonderfully smoky aroma and flavor. Thyme also very good and I recommend using for turkey or chicken roasting. The pure salt is...salty. But its a clean salt taste, if that makes sense. Lava salt is interesting. Would buy again, especially the birch smoked.

These 4 salt varieties are delicious. I would give this product a 5 star rating, but the packaging is awful. Cheap thin cardboard that was already broken open when I opened the Amazon box. It truly is a miracle that none of the bottles were broken with being fragile glass and just being tossed around in a box. The Saltverk company really needs to look into better packaging. The glass bottles need a sturdy cardboard box to keep the bottles safely in place for shipping. Then there would be less products being damaged, thus making more customers happy.

...this guy. I bought the lava version when I was in Iceland. I've savored and stretched it out for years now, treating it like it's the only lava salt on the planet... until now.I'm sure this is a great gift. Next time, I'll just get the lava salt. After I very deliberately compared, I think the birch and thyme versions didn't taste any different on my steak. But, as a gift, it's unique and could come with a great story if you've been to Iceland (which should be on your list of tourist destinations).And be advised that a little goes probably twice as far as other salt, so, while it's expensive, it's a better value than you'd think.

This truly is the best tasting and healthiest salt on the market. Worth the cost.
