Update: My review stands - hands down best product for cat odor. I promised I would update my review to let you know when I finished off the first bottle. That happened yesterday. Just opened my spare bottle and will be ordering a backup again. It literally takes just a shake in your trashcan and in the drawer of your litter robot (if you have one) and this bottle will last a long time. I would suspect for those that have a traditional litter box, you will go through this stuff a little faster. Best stuff EVER!!!! Original: As every cat owner can attest to, when you have cats - you spend your life catering to their health and happiness. This includes not only cleaning their litter boxes but trying to control the odor that emanates from them. About a year ago, I switched over to a Litter Robot from the traditional open box because I just couldn't keep the boxes clean and therefore the odor had taken over my home regardless of how much I cleaned. I was embarrassed to have guests over due to the smell. The Litter Robot was a godsend because now my cats had a clean place to do their business and the odor in the house was minimized greatly. The Litter Robot does a great job in helping to eliminate 90% of the odor in the house because waste isn't just sitting around waiting to be scooped - it is automatically deposited into a drawer below the machine to await when its time to empty the drawer. Because there is still waste sitting, there is still an odor that can be smelled (especially when you open the drawer to dump it or get close to the machine after the cat has just done its business). The Litter Robot does have a filter that helps - but again - where's there is waste - there is smell. You just can't change that. Or can you???!! I had been searching for litter order control products for some time and had given a few a try but none of them helped one bit. This product got rave reviews and I thought - what the hell. I ordered it and it came in and when I opened it up I finally understood the strong smell that other reviewers had mentioned. Someone described it as a cross between bubblegum and peppermint and I would have to agree with that assessment. The odor isn't unpleasant but it is strong. The first thing I did was toss a handful in the litter box and mixed it up and then waited. After about 2 days I was kind of disappointed. There was still an odor. And then I had a Face Palm moment and realized the waste was in the drawer and not where the litter was, so I opened up the drawer, sprinkled about 2 tsps in the drawer, closed it and waited. The next day when I got home from work and walked into the house, I was so surprised - no odor what so ever. Not even a hint which is what I expected. I walked over to the Litter Robot and again - no odor. I reserved my opinion until after I emptied the waste drawer. I placed a clean bag in the waste drawer and before closing it - I tossed in a small amount of this stuff (I didn't measure just put a little in my palm and then tossed in the bag) and then closed the drawer. I couldn't help myself and went ahead and tossed a little in the litter box as well. When I deposited the waste in the trash can in my garage, I decided to drop a little of this stuff in the trash can as well. My trash bin is only picked up once a week and I have to keep the bins in my garage. With 3 cats, I have to empty the waste drawer 2 to 3 times a week so the garage can get an odor as well (especially in the summer time). At this time, I am 4 days away from trash pickup. Next day, I come home, park in the garage and there is no odor (Yeah!). Walk in the house - no odor (Double Yeah!). Walk right up to the Litter Robot - no odor (Triple Yeah!). The real and best test is my ex-husband. Every time he comes over - he complains about the cat smell. He loved it when I got the Litter Robot because it did a wonderful job of controlling most of the smell but again - there was still a slight odor and he is so "sensitive" when it comes to smell that he still complained. He came over 2 days later and while my boys were getting ready we were in the kitchen talking and he wasn't saying anything about the cat odor. I finally just asked him if he smelled anything and he just looked at me with a shocking look and said no he didn't smell anything. He looked around and said I can't smell the cats - I forgot you had cats. He walked over to the Litter Robot and asked me what the hell I did because he couldn't smell anything. I showed him the product and told him how I was using it and then asked him to walk to the garage. He went to the garage and came back and said he couldn't smell the garage either. Told me I had a miracle product on my hands. THAT did it for me. I finally feel like I have conquered the battle of the smell. I don't have to use much, I just make sure that every time I change the bag in the drawer that I sprinkle some of this in the bag AND every time I change out the trash bag in the garage - I also sprinkle some of this in the bag and BOOM - No odor. The only time I really smell anything is when I open the drawer to empty it but even that isn't as bad as it used to be. I smell the odor but it isn't "IN YOUR FACE" bad like it used to be when you first open the drawer. I feel like I can confidently say this stuff works. I have already ordered another bottle to have in reserve so I will always have this stuff on hand. Since you don't use a lot, I would expect this to last a while but it would also depend on how many litter boxes you are maintaining. I only have one so I expect it to last a while. I will provide an update when I have finished my first bottle. For those of you who feel like you are fighting a losing battle with the litter box odor - get THIS - it WORKS!

Bought this two pack on prime day sale. About a month ago I bought one of these to try out. The goal was to refresh my cat litter boxes. I’m really sensitive to smells and while this smell is strong, it’s not a bad smell. It doesn’t give me a headache, and it effectively neutralizes any lingering odors after I’ve cleaned the litter box and sprinkled some and mixed it in. I have not noticed any adverse reaction to the cats being exposed to whatever it is made of, be it scent wise or chemically. This is something that I will continue to buy. I think it is worth having on hand to effectively freshen up litter boxes with something that smells naturally fresh and pleasant.

Rocco & Roxie Litter Box Odor Eliminator, 12 oz, Pack actually works instantly! Insantly, the odor is absolutely gone as my kitty, Shy, makes contact with the litter box. This is the one that truly works immediately! I have tried other brands, but this one leaves the other ones far behind. Nice deodorizer with a fresh scent and highly absorbent action. I like that it's safe for people, pets, and the planet. It really extends litter life by wicking away moisture. Downsides: the bottle could be larger, I wish there were more scent options and a longer lasting scent, and it isn't the cheapest. Still, a solid pick overall.

I use this with pellet litter in a small apartment, mostly for the smell right after my cat poops. It does not make the litter box smell like nothing, but it noticeably cuts the odor down instead of just covering it with a stronger perfume. The scent is pleasant and not overwhelming. To me, it smells almost exactly like bubble gum. I have not had any irritation from it, and my cat has not reacted badly, avoided the box, or seemed bothered by it. I still use it mindfully because cats have much stronger senses than we do, and I do not want the litter box to become overly scented. I also value that it is plant-based. I switched away from clumping litter partly because of environmental concerns, so the corncob granule base is a plus for me. I do not find it dusty or annoying to pour. Since I use pellet litter, the effect probably does not last as long as it would with standard litter. When I sift out urine, some of the deodorizer gets sifted out too. Even with that, it lasts through a couple uses and helps me stretch the litter longer. I scoop poop daily and sift urine about three times a week. A 12 oz bottle lasts me several months because I also use baking soda with the litter to make it go further. It is a little pricey, but it works well enough that I would buy it again.

Love this. I plan to order more. Is the scent strong? Yes but not in a bad way. Does it smell like bubble gum like someone else said? Kinda. But not in a gross litter box bubble gum way. It helps with the litter box smell that faintly lingers even if you clean daily and use a good litter. The cats do not seem bothered by it and I’ve not noticed any bad side effects. I’ve also not noticed any clumps on their paws. Do wish the bottle was filled up more.

I love this product it really helps to extend the life of your litter. I really love that there is all natural ingredients to make it safe for your kitties to be in contact with. It may cost more than other products but it is so worth it. You get what you pay for! When I run out or use other products it’s extremely obvious. 10 stars in my book.

This works. First, it doesn't take much. It is super strong smelling. But, if you use a tiny portion of the recommended amount it is pleasant and does not bother my kittens. I have a litter robot and I saw a previous review where the guy recommended you sprinkle it on top of the waste in the box. That was right on target. Every morning I sprinkle a small amount on top of waste and a small amount into the litter. If I get a hint of a smell, I'll sprinkle a tiny amount on the litter. I empty the waste bin weekly at this point. I have two kittens that have tiny tummies, so they eat often, and just as often go potty. As they grow, I know they will eat less often and I won't need to empty the bin as often. In the mean time, this product works. I held back a star because the scent is so strong. Even when using tiny amounts, I find it overwhelming when I add it to my box. Once it settles onto the litter it's fine, but if you are really sensitive to strong odors, this may not be for you. If you prefer floral to cat waste smell, by all means try this product. It does work.

Very strong scent Worth the price

Excellent litter box odour eliminator. I have 3 cats and 2 litter boxes and this is the best deodorizer I found that works. I use it a few times a week when cleaning the cat boxes, and it also has a pleasant smell. I will order again, but it tends to be on the pricey side for the amount you get.

I’ve tried too many litter odor eliminator and all of them went to the bin !! This one changed the smell from the entire house!!!! Value for the money because you need to put only a small amount of it and it takes an year to finish it 😅 I 100% recommend!!

Hands down the most effective deodorizer I’ve tried. I’ve tested many brands and the smell always came back the next day, but this completely eliminates both poop and pee odors, even in my auto litter box after a few days.
