An overnight rotation on Ward D, the locked psychiatric unit is standard training, but Amy has secrets buried in those halls. Secrets she can’t let anyone discover. What begins as a tense but routine shift quickly spirals into something far more sinister. Patients vanish. Staff disappear. Shadows stretch long down sterile corridors. The unit itself seems to have turned into a trap, a place where questions only multiply and answers can cost you your life. And as Amy tries to make sense of the chaos, she must confront not only the danger around her, but the darkness she thought she’d escaped long ago. This is a fast paced novel with plenty of action, combining medical life with psychological terror, creating an atmosphere thick with dread. Well paced, full of tension, suspense, and twists, make this an entertaining read.

This was a very intense book with lots of excitement and adrenaline. The story was very easy to follow and had a great plot. The ending was brilliant

A decent thriller, but the lead character gets out of a predicament a little disappointingly and unrealistic way towards the end. The last chapter is interesting but could have been touched on more throughout the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Ward D. It was slow to begin with, and then it picked up the pace in the last chapter. Thank you very much.

There are lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing. I enjoyed it as a light read but it also made me think about how psychiatric illnesses are treated and how indviduals cope with them when they leave hospital.

I ended up liking this a lot. A great twisty ending! Well written but I did lag a bit in the middle and might have given up if I had not previously enjoyed other Freida McFadden books. I'm not really sure why the tension did not hold up for me as well as it should. Perhaps it was the "now and then" structure. I have never liked the jump back and forth in timelines, and I think in this instance it served to break the tension of the "now" situation rather than enhance it. However the last thirty pages had me holding my breath and the end [if not entirely unexpected] left me with an echo of sadness. Hence the five stars rating.

This is a slow burn book.Keeps you wondering, and it never turns out the way you thought it would.Keeps you on your toes.Fab!!!!
