The secrets of today's successful contractors include two things: having a way to logically and efficiently document jobsite activity, as well as the resources and references to complete the documentation. This new book gives you both. DEWALT Contractor?s Daily Log & Jobsite Handbook is a two-in-one resource that provides all of the necessary elements needed to effectively run and complete a construction project. Part One offers daily log pages, carefully designed to assist contractors in documenting everything necessary on the jobsite, from daily activities to weather conditions to schedule, deliveries, subcontractors, OSHA requirements, and more. Part Two complements the preceding section by including a variety of resources related to the daily log, including a math/calculations section, an extensive jobsite safety/OSHA requirements section, Spanish/English translations and a comprehensive reference section. An ideal tool for contractors, builders, maintenance managers, and construction managers alike, its consistent use can prove invaluable in the progress of a project, especially in preparing for potential legal matters that may arise. Helps us when we do our billing and estimating tremendously. Good daily habit that I rarely miss to do. I'll slack on some things during the day but this log book really helps me stay on top of noting what happens on my job each day. Review: Good Job Site Tool. Simple Enough For Any Dumb-Bunny Contractor To Use. - Let's face it, most contractors are not good at keeping records & doing admin. I took a shot & bought DeWalt's Daily Logbook with low expectations. To my surprise, the basic format & simple layout have been accepted by staff & to date it's being used daily. To me, a reasonable list of the Who-What-When-Why & the logging of job site activity is invaluable. Dropping $18 bucks on this DeWalt tool was money well spent.

It is good to have notations of what happened throughout the day
Is okay for maintaining a daily log. Last thing on my mind at end of day is writing notes, so I found that if I leave it on seat of truck it forces me to do it. It is good to have notations of what happened throughout the day.

Nice, but tries to be too general and wastes space on the pages.
The quality of the book is great. Nice and sturdy. Each page has plenty of boxes to add things, but some things are not needed. It's kind of a catch all for info, but I don't need to mark down the weather everyday unless it's bad and causing delays. Also don't need to mark down the completion date every single day. I know I can just skip those areas, but it leaves a lot of wasted space per page. I think I'm going back to the old ledger book.

Perfect for keeping up with your project!
It gives your foremen a good reference when providing status updates, it gives you an account for each day (we include any conversations had in relation to project w/GC or other contractors). We will use them on all of our projects from here on out!

Great book
I use this book as a daily log, to keep track of whats completed and whats done. It's more detailed than I need but I like the layout overall.

Just okay
Not the best construction logbook I've used. If you need one NOW it's okay. If you've got an hour's time you can make better ones using spreadsheets. I've had print shops make some for me for very competitive prices, but it's hard to justify when you're a small business. The availability of this book is nice. It is useful and easy to understand (some proprietary ones I've used were extremely confusing) but it's too general to be useful in the long term, and could be more trade specific.
