IT'S GOOD!!!
the texture is definitely different, nice and smooth at first then you get to the anko center and it's that awesome paste that has it's own thing. the mochi itself is chewy but more than that it's SWEET. For those that haven't tried store-bought mochi this stuff is defiantly worth the try!

I think it all depends on what he’s grown up eating taste wise as if you’re gonna like it or not
Definitely different texture and either a dull tast or a very strong tast no in-between
