Kreg 12-Foot Self-Adhesive Measuring Tape - Right to Left Reading Bench Ruler - Stick On Precision Workshop Scale - KMS7723

I bought several of these tape measures for fences I was making for saws in my workshop. They are very substantial, nice sharp markings, adhere extremely well (on a clean surface), and easy to install. What more can you ask? I do which Craig made a shorter version. My longest fence is 4' so I wasted an awful lot of material. I made the mistake on the first tape of just measuring from the blade to the point at which I indexed the tape measure. NOT! Remember, when installing them, to measure to the leading edge of your stop block, but mark along the cursor line to index the tape location. The tape needs to line up with the cursor. Fortunately, because the tape is made of such sturdy material, I was able to remove it and reinstall it at the proper location.

I bought this from Amazon to go with my the tracks I bought directly from Kreg. The tape is easy to see even from arms length away from the work bench. I rated the adhesion a 4 since I was expecting the tape to be a little harder to pull up than it was, I had to reposition mine after cutting and placing it on the track. Also, I don't know if its typical or if my case was a fluke, but peeling the backing off the tape measure was a pain in the neck. I was laying down 6' of tape and peeling and placing as I went, taking my time fortunately. But every inch or two, the backing would rip. I ended up just taking it slow and carefully using a utility knife to get under the ripped pieces of backing to peel them away and then kept going. Aside from that, I'm happy with the results and the added functionality of precise and repeatable cuts from my miter saw.

The description on both of these products by Amazon was very unclear. It is also misleading. In Amazon's description for both products, it says, "This 12 foot, 1/2 inch wide tape measurer has right-to-left and left-to-right reading options." THEY DON'T! Just to let you know, the KMS7723 reads from (Right to Left) only. The KMS7724 reads (Left to Right) only. I took a gamble and ordered them both because they had different item numbers. I received what I was hoping for. It clearly shows on the product packaging that I received as to which is what. I hope this helps someone out that needs to purchase tapes that read from one direction or the other or need both as I did so that you receive what you are expecting.

I recently added the Kreg bench top self-adhesive measuring tape to my setup, and it’s been a really handy addition. The installation process was quick and easy. The measurements are clear and easy to read, even in lower light conditions, which is a huge plus. It’s saved me so much time during projects because I can glance down and have accurate measurements right there on the workbench. The durability is impressive too; even with regular use and exposure to sawdust, the tape remains in great condition without any signs of peeling or fading. It’s made a noticeable difference in my projects.

We bought this measuring tape to use for a family growth chart we created. It’s been a few years since we bought it and the adhesive has remained since the day we bought it. Would definitely recommend.

I installed it in the Kreg mini track and it worked perfectly. I dry fitted it first and cut it to length. I was concerned by some other reviews as to how I was going to get it in that tight track without it sticking until I was ready. When dry fitting I noticed it naturally wanted to go in on an angle from front to back, so I leveraged that. When I was ready to stick it down I deliberately slid it in on that angle, removing the backing as I went. When I had it where I wanted it, I simply pushed it flat.

Good product, strong adhesive easy to to read tape a little expensive but I think it is worth it.
