I initially purchased a portable power unit that cost about one third the price of this one. While it technically worked and included an AC inverter, it charged through a proprietary plug and could not charge over USB-C. The construction also felt quite flimsy. For the price, that might be an acceptable trade-off, but it wasn’t what I ultimately wanted. One thing I’ve completely stopped doing is buying rechargeable devices that rely on proprietary or non-standard wall chargers. In my experience, the first thing that fails with most electronics isn’t the device itself — it’s that charger getting misplaced. Once that happens, you’re stuck trying to track down a replacement that may be expensive or impossible to find. Because of that, I’m willing to pay a premium for devices that charge over standard USB-C. What I was really looking for was something USB-C-centric. USB-C is everywhere now, and being able to charge and power devices through it makes life much simpler. I also specifically wanted 100-watt USB-C output so I could run and charge laptops at full speed. This Jackery Explorer 240D delivers exactly that. The interface is extremely straightforward and simplified. There’s no unnecessary complexity. The included USB-C cable doubles as a handle and supports the full 100-watt power level. If you use a typical inexpensive USB-C cable, you’ll usually get around 60 watts, but having the dedicated cable means I always know I can get the full charging speed when I need it. The 100-watt capability also makes a big difference in everyday use. If you’re traveling between locations, you can plug your laptop or other device into the battery while you’re in transit and meaningfully recharge it. And because the unit itself can accept high-wattage USB-C input, it charges very quickly. Even if you’re only plugged in for a short time — say a 30-minute stop somewhere — it can gain a substantial amount of charge before you head out again. One other thing worth mentioning is the AC inverter found on many cheaper power stations. On lower-cost units, the AC output is often extremely limited. Things you might reasonably expect to work simply don’t. They can handle very low-demand tasks like charging small devices, but anything beyond what you could already do with a USB-C cable is usually out of the question. On top of that, AC inverters introduce additional energy loss, making the whole system less efficient. If you don’t specifically need AC power, I would strongly recommend choosing a DC-focused unit like this one. You’ll get more usable energy from the battery and avoid a lot of frustration. The construction quality is excellent, and it uses the newer battery chemistry that is much more resilient to charge cycles. It feels like a very solid piece of equipment. I use this battery almost every day. My work setup can be fairly power-demanding, and this lets me work in places without reliable power outlets. I’ll often run a cable from the battery in my backpack to my laptop and can comfortably work for hours at a coffee shop or anywhere else. This is my second Jackery power station, and I’ve been extremely happy with both. I have no regrets about spending the extra money for this unit. It has worked flawlessly, and I highly recommend Jackery if it fits your budget.

I picked up the Jackery Explorer 240D for a 4-day, 3-night camping trip in Yosemite, and it exceeded expectations. Over the course of the trip, I used it to charge: * 3 Apple Watches * 2 iPhone 16 Pro Max * 1 iPhone 16 Pro * 1 portable power bank * String lights each night All devices were used heavily—GPS tracking (Strava), photos, and general use while hiking—so they were consistently drained down to around 20–30% (or lower) each day by evening. Despite that, the Jackery still had 3% battery left on the drive home, which honestly surprised me. Charging experience: * It arrived at 23% charge (open box condition) * Took about 5 hours to reach 100% using a standard USB-C cable and my Apple MacBook Pro charger (57W) * Using a lower output Apple MacBook Air charger (~35W) was noticeably slower The biggest surprise: I later realized the included carry cable also functions as a high-input charging cable. When paired with the MacBook Pro brick, it allowed up to ~135W input, charging the unit from 3% to 100% in under 2 hours—a huge improvement. Real-world charging performance: * Phones consistently charged from ~30% to ~80% in about 45–50 minutes * The final 20% slows down (likely due to Apple’s battery optimization), but devices still reached 100% without issue * Apple Watches behaved similarly—optimized charging kicks in, and I had to manually select “charge to 100%” to complete a full charge (expected behavior with iOS battery health features) Performance notes: * Completely silent during use, even while charging multiple devices at once * Handled cold overnight temps (~30°F) in Yosemite without any noticeable battery degradation or performance issues Overall: This unit handled a real-world, heavy-use scenario without issue. Great balance of capacity, portability, fast recharge capability, and quiet operation. I’ll likely step up to a larger Jackery for a home emergency kit or brownout backup. Highly recommend.

TLDR: At a sale price, this is a sweet little unit if you simply want DC charging of devices via USB-C for car, camper or patio. But before I'd pay full price, I'd look at the 300D, which offers a little more flexibility for the same uses. In fact, on Jackery's web site, the 240D is "not available for purchase," suggesting perhaps that it's being discontinued in favor of the 300D. In any event, when I encountered a problem, Jackery support proved outstanding. This little Jackery is cute and light, but at ~4.5 lbs. not light enough for backpack use (at least, not in *my* backpack). Unlike most Jackery power stations, it provides only DC power, and only via usb-c ports (well, yes, it has one usb-a port, too). Also unlike other Jackery devices, the "D" power stations lack Bluetooth or wifi connectivity, so they can't be managed in the Jackery app (or at all). With three usb-c ports and a total 246Wh capacity, the 240D can charge multiple devices simultaneously--and multiple times. Fully charging my 12.9-inch 3rd gen iPad Pro from near zero to 100% uses 12-14% of the 240D's capacity. The photo below demonstrates some of the 240D's capabilities: 1) unit 1 (on the right) is doing dual-charging, accepting ~140W on its usb-c "in/out" port and an additional ~60W into its solar/cigarette lighter 8020 port, totalling 200W; 2) unit 1 is doing "pass-through," charging unit 2 from its 100W out port at the same time that it's being charged; 3) unit 2 is also doing pass-through, charging an iPad Pro at the same time that it's being charged. A odd area of confusion is the "80,000 mAh" capacity claimed in every product listing and review of the 240D. The mAh number depends on the *voltage* at which it's being calculated. The sticker affixed to the 240D's bottom plainly states "20 Ah / 12.8V DC." If you want to calculate Ah @ 3.2V (VxA=W) then sure, 80 Ah, but that seems odd. Anyway, it's the 240D's 246 Wh total capacity that matters. One unit I received exhibited a strange behavior: After charging at 140W, if the cable was disconnected and later reconnected to the 140W port, the 240D often would not accept charge again until the unit was restarted. Jackery support was very responsive and quickly shipped a replacement unit after I demonstrated the problem in a video. My only real quibble with the 240D is that the included USB-C PD cable that comes disguised as a carrying handle is all of 10.5 inches long. In most real-life circumstances, that's pretty useless (plus, personally I don't care for loose, swinging handles). I removed it and instead fashioned a carrying handle from 1/2"-wide velcro strap. Happy camper.

I am an otr pilot driver and I use this in my truck instead of the car chargers because they are full with lights and such, this thing has taken a beaten and kept on going I love it and use it everyday only have to charge it once every two or three days I charge my watches headphones and phone at the same time even chargesy ROG ALLY no problem can play it while it's charging

I love my Jackery Explorer 240D power bank. I am an RBT so I work 9 hours a day on my iPad/Laptop. Carrying this thing around is nice because, it's small enough to not notice. You can bring it with you on the bus, at the library, or keep it in your bag while charging and not get stares. It's power bank is reliable. Though I wish it's ports had more USB-A types considering how common it is to use. I know it has the ability to fast charge, I would just like it if they had a button to provide you that option for when you'd like to use it. Overall, do I think this is worth $120-130? If you are someone who is a frequent traveler like myself who wants to be able to go on an adventure without worrying about losing battery on your devices? Yeah. I believe that when it comes to Jackery vs other products, their quality feels top-tier. I just think it's ease of use could be improved because it's considered a homerun.

After a rough start because I didn't have a proper brick to charge it and it was charging at 18% Jackery sent me at no cost. They're $100 brick made especially for this. It works like a charm it's amazing and I want to thank Jackery for making the extra effort to keep me as satisfied customer I already own several Jackery products and would tell everyone go Jackery. Love it used during outages and it was a definite save

Took overnight to fully charge, but worked exceptionally well on RAGBRAI (bike trip across Iowa). I used it to daily inflate my air mattress, charge phone and bicycle lights. Still had 40% charge left at the end of the week.

Great to have for festivals or camping!! Kept me and my friends phone charged for an entire week:)

I love this power bank. It keeps my mini running all day. Before getting this I was using a usbc car adapter (it ended up melting when I plugged my phone into it at the same time). I don’t currently have a way to charge it in the car, but it hasn’t mattered yet, I keep my phone charged all day and the mini running too, and still have 30% left when I get home. I don’t even notice when I’m charging it. I plug it into my MacBook power supply (with the handy handle/cable) and plug my Mac into the jackery and it’s charged in… well I haven’t timed it but it doesn’t seem very long. The input from my Mac power supply is 136 watts. When I was ordering it I kind of thought the cable that doubles as a handle was kind of pointless, but I ended up loving it. The cable is always there, and the handle is an easy way to carry it to the car when my hands are full of other things. All in all a great product, I’m happy with the purchase, it is convenient for my use, I hope it lasts many years.
