Relief obtained
I was getting this grit in my eyes like sand. Very irritating and rubbing eyes got to be painful. This did the trick. Eliminated grit and eyes are much better. Make sure you put it in at bedtime as it really blurs your vision till absorbed.

Best for Chronic Dry Eye Syndrome
GREAT! I was diagnosed by my optometrist with chronic dry eye syndrome and this really helps me feel like I have moisture in my eyes. This result is a HUGE deal for me because I hardly produce tears. Also, I am a nurse and those long 12 hr shifts and horrible fluorescent hospital lights just really dried my eyes out! I constantly had eye strain and I used to wake up with extremely red eyes and grittiness in the morning. Well this overnight ointment solved all of that & more. Immediately my eyes were whiter and felt moisturized and even had lasting effects for the rest of the day. Before, I would be constantly putting artificial tears >4 x daily and Lumify to decrease the redness that would come back from the dryness throughout the day. I’ve even tried optometry prescribed cephalosporin-steroid eye drops & punctal plugs and while it did bring down the inflammation & reduce redness somewhat, it still left me feeling dry again within a few hours. But, with this ointment I no longer have to apply as many drops a day and I am now able to taper the dose of steroid eye drops! As other reviewers have mentioned, this ointment is pretty thick and leaves a blurry layer once applied so do keep that in mind. However, I do put a tiny dot in the daytime while I work my long shifts & it seems to keep me moisturized without causing too much greasiness. On a side note, I do have lash extensions & I was worried that this ointment would cause my extensions to fall out due to the mineral oil in the ingredients, however I have not experienced no lashes fallout when applied correctly by pulling the bottom lid down and inserting the ointment along the bottom lash line. Trust me this stuff will restore moisture to the eyes!! Don’t sleep on these, I feel my eye health getting back to normal!

Same Night Results
Great results, kinda crappy packaging? I’ve recently been having some issues with really bad dry eyes when I wake up in the morning where it hurts to open them. I wear an eye mask to sleep and also wear contacts so I wanted something that wouldn’t cause issues with my contacts. So far I have tried the ointment for one night and have felt instantly better in the morning! I started off with a smaller amount and I could probably use a bit more based on my personal needs. It is true that it makes your vision blurry after you use it but that’s why it’s meant to use before you go to sleep. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the bottle is very small and the packaging came sealed but very banged up. Overall I’d recommend it to someone to give it a try for their dry eyes

Effective for treating dry eyes
I have extremely dry eyes. This lubricant is very effective. You put it in right before you go to bed, and it keeps your eyes moist through the night; you wake with your eyes feeling less irritated. Reading through the negative reviews - someone mentioned that it causes very blurry vision. It does, but you aren't using it during the day; you are using it when you are sleeping. Another mentioned that it is very expensive for basically petroleum jelly and mineral water. It is - but unlike a lot of other gels, your eyelashes aren't glued shut when you wake up. It was also mentioned that it is hard to apply. I have found that some tubes disperse perfectly while others make application more difficult - must be slight variations in the tubes. Overall, I have found it helpful with my dry eye symptoms.

Better than Systane
This one doesn't hurt my sensitive eyes. I have tried all the other brands including Systane. This Refresh PM is much more gentle on my eyes overnight. Systane puts a lanolin in their brand so maybe that was bothering my eyes. I recommend Refresh PM.

Doesn’t work well throughout night
I bought this product a few weeks ago and was excited by the many good reviews that said it relieved dry eyes at night. I have very dry eyes and I’m getting tested for Sjrojens disease and my ophthalmologist recommended this for nighttime. My eyes will normally wake me up several times throughout the night Bc of how dry they feel and end up sticking to my eyes making it painful to open them in the mornings. With the ointment it’s slightly better but I’m still woken up after 4-5 hours of sleep with dry eyes. And it’s impossible to reapply without having to get up turn on the lights and look in a mirror which just totally wakes me up in the middle of the night. It’s consistency makes it so that often times I feel like most of it gets squeezed immediately out of my eyes. Even when I’m careful applying it deep into the lower lid, when I close my eyes much of it just oozes out within a few minutes so it doesn’t last the night. It’s also not the most comfortable. I try to close my eyes as soon as I put it in and keep them closed but more often than not I have to open them and blink a few times after a couple of minutes Bc it feels unpleasant like you have something sticking to ur eye/lashes (could be that it’s sticking my eyelashes into my eye). I’m surprised everyone else found it to work so well because I am still waking up prematurely with red irritated eyes whether I use the recommended amount or way more. Not worth the price. Hopefully I can find some relief with the gel drops because these don’t stay in the eye. Praying that I’ll get a full nights sleep soon with those. :’))) also if you’re reading this, I hope you find relief soon because I never knew how debilitating severe dry eyes can be and often cry wondering if this is what the rest of my life will be like :(
