Great value for price for lots of storage
--PACKAGING-- The packaging contains the Seagate HDD only, without any cables or screws for mounting. --DESCRIPTION-- This is a 3.5 inch Seagate Barracuda HDD with 4TB storage, and 5400RPM speed. The drive has a standard size for a 3.5 inch HDD, and is compatible with SATA III ports, up to 6GB/s speed. The low RPM speed is suitable for longer-term storage, but not for tasks that require higher speeds like gaming. The cache size allows good access speed for medium-sized files. It does not require any specific driver for installation. It is quiet and reliable. --CONCLUSIONS-- Good value for money. It gives lots of storage at a good price. No cables and screws included.

Great storage for a good price
The Seagate BarraCuda 8TB 3.5โ internal hard drive delivers a lot of storage for the price. Installation was simple in a standard desktop case, and it was immediately recognized with no setup issues. Transfer speeds are solid for a mechanical drive, especially when moving large game files, photos, or project folders. Noise is minimal during normal use. For anyone who needs space for game libraries, media collections, or backups, 8TB goes a long way. It works well as a main storage drive or as a secondary drive alongside an SSD. The BarraCuda line has been reliable for long-term use, and the drive runs cool under load. If you want a large, dependable storage upgrade without paying SSD prices for high capacities, this is a practical option and good value.

An excellent hard drive. Just make sure it arrives in the correct transit box with a warranty card.
I have used Seagate Barracudas for 12 years and found them to be a fantastic all-rounder, having great reliability and lifespan. I use them both in the house network drives and the Home Theatre library. I have even committed the cardinal sin of changing the orientation of a set of three year old barracudas from horizontal to vertical, when the library enclosure backplane failed, and they just continued on in the new enclosure with zero errors. Most of my Barracudas run 24/7, and on average they last for 8 years. But even as they get to end-of-life, they have never just failed, they begin throwing up the odd error, to let you know they are almost done. In my experience, you have about three months from the start of the drives giving errors, to more serious problems. But if the drive is around 8 years old, it has pretty much done it's duty. The only thing I would warn you about, is to make sure that the barracuda (or any Seagate hard drive) arrives in the proper Seagate transit box shown in the pictures. This is the official Seagate packaging, and will include the Seagate warranty booklet. I mention this because I was tempted by a supplier that was slightly cheaper than the official Amazon-supplied drive. What I received was a barracuda inside a heat sealed anti-static bag, but it was loosely packaged in a generic cardboard box without a warranty card. These drives are sometimes 'harvested' from other devices, such as Seagate Expansion or Backup units. I returned the drive and bought the slightly more expensive official Amazon-supplied drive, as these always arrive in mint condition. I will not make that mistake again. The official Seagate boxes suspend the hard drive on all sides inside the box, helping to ensure it arrives in perfect working order.

Great large capacity storage drive
I prefer these older-style true disk drives for reliable data storage. I still have space to fit one of these in my desktop PC alongside my main NVRM PCie digital drive. This one, being 8TB, is ideal for storing images, videos, and general back-ups. I feel these can be relied on for long-term data storage.. Fitment is easy, and the formatted size comes out at 7.27TB, so yes, you lose 0.73 of a TB of available space in the formatting process on a Windows 11 PC, which seems like a lot! but then, on my older 3GB drive, you would lose 0.28TB to formatting anyway, so it's kind of the norm, and there isn't anything we can do about it, although sometimes you feel like they should perhaps list an estimated (net) formatted size on storage drives rather than the unobtainable gross size.

Great for every day tasks and as a backup drive
I've had this particular HDD in my PC about 2 years now. It still going strong. I have not any issues with since I purchased this hard drive. I would like to point out that this is not my primary hard drive - I use primarily as a secondary drive for storage, holding various content, some light photo/video editing and for writing documents. For my purposes this has turned out to be a pretty reliable hard drive. Given that it's a mechanical hard drive it's not silent but it's not noisy either. It's pretty easy to live with and not a distraction. Value for money? For me it has been so far. This is a drive I would highly recommend.

Worked excellently for me but there is a caveat when using internal hard drives
This is for the 8TB internal SATA drive. Works very well as a secondary data storage drive but can't comment on the speed you would get running an OS on this. Have no complaints but I did notice some negative reviews I read before buying so I thought some comments on these would be useful to other people, based on a very positive experience with the product and almost being put off buying it. 1) I did not find this noisy. 2) If you buy a USB drive then it will come pre-formatted, usually with ExtFat. An internal drive will be blank so you need to create a partition table then add partitions and format them. A few reviews I read were negative because of this so it is something to be aware of. Instructions on how to do this depend on OS.

Item received and working 100%
I was a bit worried when the HDD arrived and the box was dented (signs of 'mishandling'). Did a validation (unRAID preclear) which ran over 49hours to test each sector of the hardisk and I am glad that it pass 100%! Note: Got this at a very good price but remember this is SMR disk. It fits my purpose for archiving data. IF you are using this as a NAS (e.g. in synology NAS) you are better off looking for a CMR disk (google the difference). Putting this disk for RAID purpose will be a disaster! Take note.
