Great tool
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This tool worked great. I had my tie rod ends off in 10 minutes per side. That beats hammering my a--off. Saved my a lot of time.

IR117 Air Hammer are the best value for our use. We purchase several hundred annually.
Excellent Product and a good price. Unfortunately the price was raised so I had to purchase others at Northern Tool. Hopefully the cost will decrease and I will continue purchasing from you. Thank you.

Professionally used on an occasional basis.
I've been using this hammer at work now for about three months. I don't use it every day, but often enough that it gets stressed. It's performing exceptionally well. From ball joints to rusted fasteners, I have only found a few things this hammer won't break loose. My biggest complaints are that the coil seems to crossthread very easily, and that when using the hammer, the coil will slip off the bit in a few seconds of use. But for the price, I have yet to find a better, more reliable air hammer.

Very Good product in 2 CFM catagory
I used this recently to tear through some frozen nuts and bolts and break some rivits. It got the job done. It is rated for only 2 CFM which my small 3 gallon, 1 HP compressor(2.4 CFM @ 90psi) can deliver. Most other air hammers require about 2X more air flow to operate at or near their capacity. The IR 115 air hammer allows me to get some things done around my house including automotive work without having to invest in a larger air compressor. It's short stroke allows it to operate on less air flow but as a trade off it has less impact. This may require you to spend a little more time to get the job done and it may not work on anything requiring very high impact blows. On the plus side it has 5,000 beats per minute which is much higher than most air hammers and its shorter than typical length can allow you to get into tighter areas. It is sold as a standard duty air hammer and if you are a light user and currently own a smaller air compressor (but at least 2CFM @ 90PSI) this is the tool you want. In it's catagory it is a good deal and is of Ingersoll Rand quality. Make sure you use at least a 3/8 inch diameter air hose.
