Moen Eva Brushed Nickel Single Post Open Hand Towel Ring, Holder for Bathroom, YB2886BN

This was a very sturdy towel holder. It has an elegant, but modern design. Clear instructions for mounting. I expect this will last a long time.

I've always had towel bars or regular coat hook-style hooks for towels in bathrooms. I've never had this kind where you actually had to go to the effort (!) to loop a towel through a ring. But it's an open ring, and it's easier, and I've also used it a lot as a regular hook (ie, hanging the towel on the open end of the ring). I usually have one towel looped through it, and another hanging off the free end. It's pretty, functional and matches the other Moen Eva fixtures in my bathroom. It's easier and more convenient than a towel bar. Now that I've gotten used to a "ring style" towel holder, I really like it (although I'm not sure I'd like a "full, closed ring" style). Brushed nickel color is a tad bronze-ier than I anticipated (I anticipated more of a stainless hue), but it works. I have it on the wall next to the shower - very convenient. One caveat: don't put it so close to the shower door that it interferes with door movement. I was going to put this closer, and my contractor pointed out that it'd get in the way (this is why I have to use contractors).

This is a very well constructed heavy towel holder. I like the open design. It makes towel removal adn replacement even easier. The heavy construction makes the item seem like it will last a lifetime. Installation would not be easier. Drill a piolot hole in the drywall. insert the black bracket into the hole. Use a screw driver to tighten down. A power driver may over tighten. Snap the holder on adn you are all set. This is beautiful, and durable. The drywall anchor seems very strong too, and has prongs that keep it inplace in the drywall so it will mot move after installation.

I had only one towel bar in the bathroom and needed something more compact for the hand towel. This turned out to be perfect. It is simple and blends well with the other bathroom fixtures. In fact, I like it so much that I'm considering installing one in the kitchen (which currently has nothing on whcih to hang a towel).

Quality of the finish and material is definitely 5 stars. But I had to knock one star off overall rating because of the instruction and installation hardware: 1) You get "Pro-Fit" installation hardware. You basically drill one hole, insert the plastic base, tighten the screw, and push in the holder. 2 problems I found: First, the plastic base has 2 metal prongs located at 10 and 2 o'clock which would go through drywall and prevent the holder from rotating. But if this base doesn't go into the wall straight, your holder won't look straight either. The instruction doesn't warn you about this. Second, the instruction tells you not to over tighten the screw and states that 6-8 turns should be enough. This is not necessary true. I turned the screw 8 rotations, the base seems to fit and secure against the wall however, once I pushed the holder into the base, the whole assembly was wobbly and loose. That was because my drywall may be thinner than normal (?) Took me 30 min to remove the holder from the base (tried not to damage the wall). And turned the screw ~10 more rotations until I felt the anchor in the back is pushing in against the drywall. 2. Once installed, the hard ware is going to be difficult to remove. I bought and installed 4 of these. The first one was a pain but the other 3 was installed in a breeze.
