Most uninterrupted running buds!
I have been through a few different buds for running. I've used the Braven Flye Sport Power, Sony WF-1000XM3, old Apple wired buds, and the AKG wired buds that come with Samsungs now (which actually are a pretty good fit, btw). I have an issue that I want the best sound for my music. This means good sound with good bass, and good bluetooth connection. I started with the Sony's. They have amazing sound and stay in your ears in the office, but struggle to stay in your ears when running, bending over, etc. They also tend to cut the bluetooth connection often, even on the correct settings. I did like that they pick the bluetooth connection back up very quickly, compared to other wireless like the Braven's. But they cut out often when outside. I also had them fall out a few times. Plantronics Backbeat fit: I was very hesitant to try these for a few reasons. 1) The wire on the back. The bravens had one similar, and it would bounce and tug constantly. It would pull on my ears, and also work it out of my ears, even though they went up and over. The Plantronics Backbeat do not bounce or pull, and stay in place. 2) The second hesitation was the earbud covers. I like this design. It is similar to the old Apple buds that never fatigued my ears, because of the shape they would just sit their naturally. But, on my Braven's the cover was removable and would move around and come off. On the Backbeat, they are held in place (glue?) and don't move. Perfect! 3) My 3rd hesitation was definitely sound. I wanted something loud and clear enough for good music, especially without noise cancelling. I am pleasantly surprised by the great sound of these! They may not be the top-of-the-line Sony or Sennheiser, but they stay in place, are comfortable, and sound great! Battery lasts a pretty long time. The buttons are easy to use (I find the Sony soft-touch controls less easy to use than these, as these have a very slight 'button press' feeling that I like). My ears don't fatigue. I am not a fan of gel or foam buds that expand in your ears. I've tried several types, including the aftermarket ones that you can buy that are supposed to be amazing. I have never been happy with them. They make your ears feel "full" the whole time you're wearing them, and they make my ears sweat, and eventually have all lost grip and fallen out. These plantronics have none of those issue for me. Last, when you want to take them out for just a few minutes, they rest nicely over your ear or around your neck, which is convenient for exercise. Bluetooth: These do lose connection sometimes. This is a common issue with using bt outside. But, the bt drops have been less offensive with these. For one, they are not "true wireless" (separate buds) which I believe helps. Also, they pick the signal back up quickly when it does drop. I find it less annoying than other ones I've used. For reference, I keep my phone in my left pocket. I will say also, I don't hate wired buds and will use them unlike some other reviewers. I often have preferred wired buds over some wireless, to be honest. I like the old apple ones and actually have a lot of great things to say about the AKG that come with samsung now. But, now that I found these Plantronics, I will not even think about using my wired buds for activity. The Plantronics Backbeat are my go-to for running, and worth every penny!

Terrible - A Definite Downgrade From the Originals
I used the original Backbeat Fit headphones for many years and loved them. Five or six years - I don't even know how long anymore. I went through a couple of sets in that time. So I've had a lot of experience with this brand and I absolutely loved the originals. When I bought these I kind of freaked out about many of the reviews. But I remembered on the originals they had a ton of bad reviews too. So, I figured the same here. I just bought two pairs of these, one for my wife and one for me. My wife's pair was completely dead on arrival. It couldn't be turned on and it couldn't be charged. I tried over and over to get it charging but nothing worked. The red light never came on when plugged into the charger. They have now been returned. My pair would charge - but only intermittently. Yesterday it was plugged into the charger for more than 14 hours and the red light was on the whole time - indicating it was being charged. The original version would charge up in just an hour or two. But this one was plugged in all day and finally after 14 hours the red light went off indicating they were fully charged. However, when I turned them on - they said "Battery is HIGH". But literally 3 minutes later, it said, "Battery MEDIUM". Then a minute or two after that it said, "PLEASE RECHARGE" and they shut off! So 14 hours of charge got me about 7 minutes of runtime. That's a FAIL. That pair has now been returned as well. Speaking of charging - one really annoying thing is that there is just one light - Red. It stays on while they're charging. When they finish charging it goes off and there is no light. On the originals, when they finished charging the light would turn blue - which was very helpful as it let you know they were plugged in and actually connected to the charger cord. You know how often these chargers are plugged in but not really connected... well, with this new generation of headphones - you'll never know if they have fully charged or if they simply didn't really connect to the charger. Another downgrade is the voice that informs you of the headphone's status. In the original version the voice was crystal clear. In these new ones, it sounds staticky for some reason. Although the sound of whatever I was listening to was fine. But it's just weird that they couldn't get this voice right - which used to be fine years ago. (You usually expect things to get better over time - but not these. They've gotten worse). The Buttons: On the original Backbeats, they had 4 buttons. One for volume, one for playing and pausing, one for rewinding / answering calls and one for turning them off and on/getting battery status. This new generation however, only has two buttons. It was pretty annoying because it was impossible to get the headphones' status. You can obviously turn them off and on, you can pause and play and you can change the volume but you can't rewind and you can't get the battery status . So, you have to go onto your device, press and hold the Bluetooth connector icon, wait for the bluetooth screen to come up which will display the percentage of battery left. HOWEVER, it always displayed 100% - even after I had used them for a couple of hours! So it never displayed the actual usage. The buttons on these new headphones are pretty nice. They're more virtual than tactile - meaning they operate merely from a light touch. That's kind of cool but on the other hand kind of annoying. On the older ones, they didn't do anything until you actually pressed them. That gave you a chance to feel where your finger was on them to make sure you were about to press exactly what you wanted. On these though, you just touch them and whatever function is assigned to them is activated. The actual build quality is very nice. They look like they'd hold up very well over time. I'm just really disappointed that in the end, no matter how good the external build quality seems - they're just unusable because they can't be charged or turned on. Because of that I have to give them 1 star. They really deserve 0 stars - since they ultimately don't work at all. They look nice though. UPDATE 5/12/2021 -- they died after just 7-8 months. The previous version that I had owned several pairs of, I still have two of those that have lasted 4 years so far... and still going strong.

Very Happy
I ordered these based on recommendation from Wirecutter, and then read the reviews here. Was very concerned about the problems that people have been having. However, I have had no problems at all. Very easy to pair, picks up bluetooth signal flawlessly and sound quality is excellent. I had the previous version of these headphones for 3 years, and these are noticeably better in just about every way. My one complaint (and it's a fairly small one) is the battery level is kind of misleading. I did a long run the other day (a little over 2 hours), and started at 65% battery. Less than 10 minutes into my run, I was getting "low battery" notifications. It did last about 1 hour and 45 minutes before dying, but it was very annoying to get low battery notifications every 10 minutes for an hour and a half. For this price, I think that is a very minor problem that I can deal with.

Solid headphones, but my first set were a lemon.
Not quite as good as my old pair and you risk getting one with a defective battery, but customer service was good and the new pair is solid. I got these headphones because I loved my previous pair and was looking for something to run with. I initially got a lemon of a pair where the headphones would go from a full charge to saying there was 10% left within 5-10 minutes. I went to initiate a return but decided to contact the seller first. They sent me a USPS slip to mail them the defective set and then shipped me a new set upon receipt. I haven't tested claims of 7 hours of battery life, but what I get is sufficient for my need and I have minor complaints. I feel like this isn't as good as the old version I had. The volume controls are touch instead of buttons. On one hand that limits the pressure you put on your ear, on the other, these are meant for running and sweat might cause the volume to change. I haven't had that experience yet, but I think I prefer the old buttons instead for confidence in the result of my actions. I also feel like the sound quality is slightly poorer, but it's still solid. I do love being able to hear my surroundings. I have a different set that will block out sound, but I don't want to use those in a variety of settings so these are perfect.

Easy to Connect, Dependable, and Good Sound Quality
I really like these headphones! I like the ease these connected to my phone, and it works well each time I use them. The nice lady's voice on them tells me they are connected and how strong the battery life is! The buds fit snugly in each ear, and the sound quality is good enough. I'm not trying to conduct a symphony with them, just enjoy my classic rock. The volume is good too- it only goes so high (but high enough) as to protect my hearing! There is an announcement alert for the max/min levels as you adjust the volume- Over all, these are great little buds for the price. I've always liked the Plantronics brand, I've always had some of their products, the last ones were not water proof and I accidentally took them into a pool. That was their end. I'm planning to use these water proof ones in and around some water soon, and I hope they fair well. The only negative, if I even have one is the challenge to put the charging cord in, but even that I've resolved -the wider end goes toward the the red bud, and the light on the side tells me they are charging, and it goes off when they are fully charged. I may even buy a second pair of these, because they are that good!

Not as good as the first generation
I'd had my first gen for some years until the battery stopped holding a charge. I run in them regularly, wear them for gardening and lawn work, and take them on motorcycle trips to listen to some music in my tent at night. They were great. Comfortable, stayed in my ears (an ongoing problem with me and earbuds), sounded excellent, and ran for hours. So when they went bad I figured I'd just buy a new pair. Unfortunately, they decided to "improve" them. 1) The strap across the back of the neck, which I like because it keeps the pair together, is stiffer than the originals. The practical result of this is that the strap puts pressure on the earbuds and the left hand side falls out of my ear all the time. Now when I run I am constantly (every block or so) having to reach up and push it back into place. 2) The battery life is significantly less. Used to be that a couple long runs would get to me "Battery life medium". Once I hit medium I could listen for quite a while til "battery life low" and even then I might have another forty five minutes or so until "recharge headset" warning came on, followed shortly by powering off. The new ones seem to be a) inconsistent and b) short lived. One run gets me close to "battery medium" and the other day I started a run at medium and they shut off two thirds of the way through a 45 minute run. 3) The voice that gives you status is shrill and annoying. It isn't a sound quality issue because the sound quality for both music and podcasts is just fine. It is the voice they chose to keep you up to date. The Positives: Sound quality is still really good and these are one of the only sets I have found that still have the strap across the back of the neck. If I didn't have that strap, like so many don't know, I'd constantly be stopping to go back and pick up the left earbud from the ground when it fell out.

Wireless Headphones can sound great!
I had the previous model for quite a long time. But after many years they broke (because I used to create a nod from them so that the cord behind didn't hang, which why they got worn finally) and I decided to buy something new. I found that there are a lot of cheep bluetooth headphones costing ridiculously cheep (~20euros) and having great reviews in Amazon. I bought some of them (Vava manufacturer) and dropped out in two days. The sound was way worse than previous BackBeat FIT model (old one). So I realized that it's always bad to economize on quality and ordered the BackBeat 2100 (happily the just appeared on the market). I can say that I'm extremely happy. The first thing that amuses me is that the cord behind the head is a bit shorter now and the angle for headphones it is different which makes it almost lie on the back of my head instead of hanging far from the head (this always annoyed me in the previous model - that's why I started tieying it into node). The second thing is the same deep and rich sound. I can compare now - I can say that the sound is almost the same as Apple headphones (if not the same) - I don't hear any difference. The music is pleasant to hear again. The third thing is controls - the surface for buttons is made bigger and it's easier to switch volume and tracks now. There is a slight delay in switching volume and tracks (wasn't in the previous model) but it's not terrible. As a bottomline: the headphones are still brilliant for any physical activity - they will never fall out from the ears. The sound is great and controls are convenient. I'm happy to have them and will recommend them to everyone. (btw I saw some Bose models - they look ugly and cumbersome on the ears - BackBeat looks much better)

happy initially... dissapointed because if wouldn't charge
I own the original BackBeat FIT. Used it almost every day for about 4 years now. They worked beautifully without any problem. The reason i was looking for a replacement is because the battery now lasts maybe 4-5 hours down from 7-8 originally. But that is to be expected with any built in battery device... I almost bought the same old model when i saw that the new 2100 was just released. I really like the feel of the new 2100. They are just a tiny bit heavier than the original, but not by much, so you don't feel big difference. I like the fact that the back band got a bit shortened in this model, so it does not stick out as much. Happy with the controls and the new app (doesn't work with the old BackBeat Fit app, needs a different one). Sound is on par if not better than the previous model. The 2100 seem to have more base and they fit in the ear a little snugger, still allowing ambient sound but not as much as the old model. Happy overall. Time will show how they hold up. Would definitely recommend for gym use. P.S. After initial good impression, I found that my headset will not charge. I teied different cables, wall adapters and computer usb ports...anything that would charge any device. The red light goes on, that blinks and goes off. The headset would not charge however. I thought I would update the firmware and that would fix the issue, but one cannot initiate the firmware update unless your headset is at least 50% charged. This leaves me nowhere. I sent a request support, but if ni working solution is found, will be returning for a full refund and go back to my old model. Very dissapointed P.P.S. After returning the defective piece I got first, decided to try again.... Newly arrived set charging properly so far. Just hope it keeps doing that. Taking the star off for the firmware update which takes almost 1 hour.... Another thing is, I liked the voice responces better on the old model, it was less robotic voice. Plus this one sais “phone connected”, doesn’t matter what you are connecting too. Would be better like with the old model it simply said “device connected”. Hope they fix it in the upcoming firmware updates Update: After using these headphones for about two months... feel like the bttery life is getting depleted faster and faster... nowhere near advertised capacity. This did not happen to me with original model for at least 3 years of use. Also, put the originals back on to compare the sound again and don’t want to go back to this 2100 model anymore. I would suggest buying the old model.... this one is a lemon

Good to see plantronics doesn’t changes what’s the best part of original BBFIT
Good: plantronics nailed the design with backbeat fit series long back. This is an incremental/ revamped headset piggy backing on same design. If you run, there isn’t a better wireless one. I have used Apple AirPods / Pro, Beats, Sennheiser, Sony to name a few, none came close to comfort & awarenss this design provides. My earlier BBFIT lasted me a few years. Only days ago one speaker sound was dead and still good battery life which is amazing Bad: while exercising or running, tactile buttons works best. Touch ones not so much. The rubber/silicone doesn’t seems so flexible as original BBFIT which use to just adjust to shape. Backbeat iOS app still horrible Battery life yet to be seen...

Great affordable sports wireless earphones
Tried them for an outdoor run and loved them: - very comfortable on the ear - can last about 6h - you can hear outside noise, but not enough to bother you - sound quality is not amazing, but it is not bad either For the price, they are really great sports wireless earphones

Excellent quality fit and sound.
Bought these as replacement for my husbands Christmas present. These are his second set. First set still work but he’s had them years and are looking a bit worn. Quality of sound is excellent. Easy to use. Fit is perfect and really secure. Used daily for running and in the gym. Never had any issues and these are the same. He uses them for work linked in to listen into meetings. Also for watching films on iPad etc. Can’t fault them at all.

For the gym or on a run, can’t go past these.
For the price you can’t go past these. They deliver surprisingly good sound quality, which I would say is as good, if not better than my Bose sports. They sit comfortably and 100% securely, they just don’t feel like they are going anywhere. Comfort wise they are good, I think if you small ears you may find them a little bulky and I don’t believe they’d be that great for all day use. But for a workout or a run, they are good. The controls are easy to understand and very easy too operate even whilst running. Only issue is the charging port can be a bit annoying to try and connect to.
