beautiful Dutch oven value
Nice color and quality of this medium sized cast iron Dutch oven. The gradient colored blue is very elegant that you find in more expensive brands. The interior enamel is nice and smooth in traditional cream color. The weight of the pot is as expected, but the weight of the lid is disproportionally heavy for it's size. I wished the lid was 1/2 the weight, which would be what I've experience on other 5 qt models in different brands. The extra weight of the lid doesn't seal any better as steam still escapes over the edges of the lid to relieve pressure. The oven works as expected with even heating and even browning and consistent fond development. This pot is very versatile for stove top to oven. Oven baking for slow braise or bread baking provides excellent results. Very tender pot roasts and even browning on sourdough bread loaves. Cleaning with initial soak and sponge wipes off debris easily. Great looking Dutch oven and a great value.

Le Creovermont… anyone?
Beautiful, beautiful color! Very sturdy and heavy, the lid fits just right. Perfect for my sourdough artisan loaves.

Pretty and functional! Great for sourdough
Love this Dutch oven. Never knew I needed one until I decided to start making sourdough! So went for the color and I saw someone on Instagram making sourdough and they were using Overmont. This one is so pretty. And it worked great! It’s cast iron covered in enamel and it’s cleans so easily and doesn’t stick. Thelkid has little bumps on it and I’m sure there’s a reason for it but not sure what that is. lol. It’s heavy but it cooked my first sourdough loaf just perfectly. I love it!! I’ll have to see what else you can use a Dutch oven for now. Hahaha.

Great for the price!
I'm a novice baker, and my cooking experience comes primarily from trial, error, and Gordon Ramsey-hosted cooking shows, so feel free to take this with a grain of salt. But this dutch oven has exceeded my expectations.I did a LOT of reading before this purchase and had basically come to the conclusion that I might have to shell out $100-200 on a brand name dutch oven if I wanted anything of value. I just couldn't justify that though. My main reasons for buying were bread baking, meat braising, and soup stewing. I wanted something roomy and oven safe with a lid. That's it. So I took a gamble and bought this Overmont.First off, it has WEIGHT. Like, "oh wow I need to work out my upper body" kind of weight. I like this. I know it makes cleaning and lifting more of a chore, but for what you're about to put it through, it's the least you can do. None of the enamel came chipped or cracked and the color is just like the picture. I like that the handles are handles and not just nubs - it makes it easier to grip when moving it around.I hand washed with soap and warm water before using it. I baked some cheese bread in it first, and it handled being preheated in a 450 degree oven for 30 minutes, then another 45 minutes of baking at the same temp. I figure if it can handle that, I know it can handle mostly anything else. It heated evenly, the bottom didnt burn, and despite the large size of the pot in relation to the bread, the bread didn't spread and fill out in the pot! Can't wait to use it for something like beef bourguignon or french onion soup next. For bread baking, it checks all the boxes. My only con? For those with small apartment ovens like me (mine is a Hotpoint with a bottom heating element), the handle of the lid MIGHT restrict its placement in the oven. I had the rack in the center, but when I went to put it in the oven, the handle of the lid bumped into the broiling element so I had to move the rack down one. Not the biggest inconvenience, but I was pleasantly surprised to see my bread didn't burn despite being one notch closer to the heating element. Guess that's just a testament to the sturdy construction of this thing.Only time will tell how it holds up but for now, I'm happy with my first dutch oven.

Outstanding purchase!
I'd been considering getting a Dutch Oven for a while, but it wasn't something I really needed. And then I saw this one. The look of this one just grabbed my attention. The color is absolutely beautiful, rich and deep. Of course that's not enough reason to buy it, but in researching it, everything lined up and the price was too right to pass up! It arrived over the weekend. The oven looks as good as it did online, if not better. Both the oven and the lid have heft and are solid cast iron. And the lid fits like a glove! I made chicken stock and chicken soup, which was delicious and stayed hot/warm for some time after the heat was off. Clean up was a breeze! I can't wait to use it again and again - I think pot roast is next!

Makes great sourdough
I bought this to bake sourdough bread, and I’m not disappointed. The pot and lid are heavy—as they should be. The lid sits tightly on the pot, even with parchment paper sticking out, so the bread’s crust came out perfect. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the potholders that came with it must’ve been designed for a smaller pot. But so what? I didn’t buy it for the accessories, and the pot is everything I wanted it to be.

Quickly my favorite piece of cookware!
This Overmont dutch oven exceeded expectation! This purchase was initiated by my desire to make sourdough bread - which I'm working on however I just used it for lentil soup. Must be the cast iron & self basting that cooked it quickly & provided abundant flavor. Very well made at a reasonable price. & many colors to choose from. I read reviews that mentioned how heavy this pot is ... cast iron is heavy, this is my 4th piece of cast iron. The little cotton pot handle covers are an excellent way to move it around on the stove but I will use larger mitts for in & out of oven.

Robusta, bellissima e performante. Straconsigliata!

Love it.
I love this Dutch oven and haven’t had any issues with it. I’ve used it for sourdough, soups, and pasta and it’s been great for all of them. It deglazes very well, and comes clean easily. I’ve soaked it occasionally just to make cleaning super easy but it hasn’t been necessary. I adore the colour, the lid fits well, and the enamel is nearly perfect with the exception of one TINY spot that didn’t get covered but it doesn’t impact cooking at all and I haven’t had any issues with it. Pics of before and after deglazing, and the tiny imperfection. Overall I love this Dutch oven, you can’t beat the price, and I’d definitely recommend it.
