What's the difference between Cross, Race and Tour?

The differences come down to Weight, Durability, and Available tire sizes which are focused on different styles of riding. It is hard to directly compare Road vs Cross vs Tour tires, because they don't offer the same sizes for all these categories. For example: Tour and Cross models each have a size compatible with 700x47C tires, but Road tires never get this wide, so they don't have a Road inner tube in this size. Inner Tube Weight is always a trade-off for durability and performance. Lighter weight = Faster bike, but less durable. Heavier weight = slower bike, but more durable. Race is Road bikes with thinner tires focused more on lighter weight and speed than durability. Race 28" [700C] comes in two sizes with multiple models and weights: 700x25-32C (125g) and 700x20-25C (regular = 105g, "Light" = 65g, "Supersonic" = 50g). Cross is specifically focused for Cyclocross. It is heavier than Race, but more durable. It is slightly lighter than Tour, and slightly less durable. If you are not sure what Cyclocross is, then it is safe to say it is not for you (it is a unique competitive sport, so you will know if you are doing this or not). Cross 28" [700C] only comes in one size: 700x32-47C (155-160g) Tour is for all-around City and Trekking (often "hybrid" style bikes). This offers decent all-around performance with a balance of weight for durability versus performance. Not has heavy duty as MTB, but not as heavy in weight either. It comes in several sizes and weight/durability options for 700C: Tour 28 [700C] Slim = 700x28-37 (145g) Tour 28 [700C] All = 700x32-47C (165-170g) Tour 28 [700C] Light = 700x37-47C = (100-115g) Tour 28 [700C] Wide = 700x47-62C = (225-230g) Tour 28 [700C] Wide Hermetic Plus = 700x47-62C = (320g)

These will fit a 700x38c Bontragger wheel on my dual sport (presta) right?

These tubes are advertised to fit 700x32mm to 700x47mm tires. I bought mine for a 700x38mm tire..

will they fit 27x1 1/4 ?

I would only buy the size that you need. Go to Walmart and buy Goodyear tubes, or get them on here if they have them. I've been using them for awhile and have hahd no problems with flats.

The tube I took out sat 700x28 32c are these the correct ones?

You should go off what size tire you are running. It sounds like the tube you pulled out was a 700x28-32c. These tubes are a 700x32-47c. So if you are running 28mm tires on your bike, these tubes are going to be too big.
