Review of BX300 480GB drive. Let me be frank. This is a budget drive that likely uses decent, reliable but not top of the line NAND. Things pricier drives will give you:- DRAM cache: ❌- Heat-sink metal casing good for sustained write performance: ❌- Bragging rights on read and write speed: ❌On the other hand, maybe you're not a benchmark chaser. Just a normie just looking for a decent drive that will do the things you want an SSD to do (better read/write speed and silent performance compared to HDDs) from a brand you can trust to stand behind the product if, heaven forbid, you get a lemon.If you're one of these people, I can wholeheartedly recommend this drive to you. I use it with Linux Mint on a 12th gen i5 equipped mini PC and I have zero complaints about performance. I don't have a stopwatch to tell you exact speeds, I'm not going to compare it with NVME drives or the best SSDs. I'm just going to tell you: It's plenty fast enough for normies.

I’m an IT guy. Used to be Geek Squad back in the day. Sometimes I do things with computers just to see if I can do them. So when an old 2010 MacBook Pro showed up courtesy of a family member, I decided to play around with it.The wonderful thing about old hardware is it is cheap to upgrade, but this thing was in rough shape. New battery, new memory, and this new SSD. All extremely easy upgrades if you know your way around a PC.Popped open the bottom of the laptop and the old hard drive uninstalled easily and the new one went in even easier. After install I booted the laptop using Apple’s recovery mode, partitioned and formatted the hard drive, and let Apple install the OS over the internet. Unfortunately, Apple does not support this computer anymore, so there are no longer up-to-date security patches. So I did the next best thing, installed Windows 7 using Apple Bootcamp, as this version of MacOS only installs Windows 7. I know Windows 7 no longer gets updates either, but little known is that the Windows 7 drivers provided by Apple work in Windows 10. Which allows you to upgrade your Windows 7 instance with no issue. So I have Windows 10 successfully running on a 12+ year old PC.So I can confirm this drive works great on Mac and Windows. Boot up on this old PC, including bios, is now under 30 seconds. SSDs are single-handedly the best upgrade for your money, and at under $40 this SSD is perfect for any project you have. Crucial has always been a trusted name in the Memory business, and with their drives coming in at such a competitive price point, there is surprisingly no trade off between quality and cost.Will update my post if I have any issues with the drive failing prematurely, but so far this thing is great!

My old asus i3 laptop didn't have much life left in her. Pretty slow and old windows 10 (not able to upgrade to windows 11). I added an additional 4gb of ram and swapped out my 500gb hdd for this SSD and installed Ubuntu linux. Now it's got new life. Boots up fast; great for a portable laptop; and I mostly use it for "Distributing Computing" where my laptop is connected to thousands of others around the world for good work. This one is connected to folding@home and is used by universities and medical centers around the world working on finding cures to diseases, covid, and many other medical concerns. Simple plug and play with any normal 2.5" hard disk drive. It is SATA iii compatible so there aren't any concerns. If you have an older laptop with a hdd in it, this is the best upgrade you can do. It will make your laptop/computer faster.

This is an inexpensive SSD drive that will dramatically increase the performance of an older laptop. A perfect upgrade for a casual PC user.However the BX series is a value oriented SSD, and is not the best choice for users who do heavy write activity like video production, some games, large databases or backup storage. For applications that involve a lot of disk write activity or for users who want a little better performance and possibly longevity the MX series is probably the superior choice.The crucial BX series is a significant performance upgrade from a traditional hard disk, and will provide a noticeable speed benefit for an older laptop. You'll also get silent operation, and a little longer battery life.

الهارد جيد وسريع ولكن يعيبة انة مش علية لوجو الوكيل عشان الضمان وبكدا ملوش ضمان بس الصناعة مكسيكى وكمان دا الفيرجن الاحدث من قبل بمعنى انى قبل دا كان بينزل كلة بلاستيك ولكن دا ضهرة المونيوم مبرد للهارد نفسة وعلية هيد ثينك وبكدا مشكلة السخونة اتحلت ودى مشكلة مشهورة فى الهارد دا دلوقتى عند بداية التشغيل بتكون ٣٣ الى ٣٥ وبعد التحميل التقيل بتوصل ٤٠ درجة الى ٤٣ درجة ودا ممتاز جدا لانى الاصدار القديم كانت بتوصل ٧٠ درجة .. اعتقد دى مراجعة شاملة وهتفيد اللى عايز يشترى .. راى اشترى بسرعة وانفد لية بكرة مش هنلاقى المنتجات دى لانها شحت جدا من السوق

I had 1TB 7200rpm HDD in my HP laptop. And this was always the biggest bottleneck for the performance of my laptop. So finally I decided to upgrade my HDD to SSD. I checked on the website of Crucial and this SSD came as compatible with HP Pavilion laptop. I got this SSD in one day through prime and started preparation for the upgrade. Crucial gives you software - 'Acronis True Image for Crucial' to make a clone of the current HDD on SSD so you could transfer all the data. However it Acronis software was not of much use. First of all this software is extremely slow, so even if you just select source drive and destination drive, it takes minutes before you can do the next step. I was trying to make clone of a larger HDD (1TB) to a smaller SSD (480GB), for that Acronis asked me to exclude some of the drives or folders I do not want to clone. However this step crashed the application everytime I tried to select a drive. Finally I did some search on Internet and got this tool called - Maricum Reflect for free. This tool was great and I was easily able to shrink the size of the drives and select only the drives I needed to clone. You can find online tutorials/videos on how to use it. One the cloning process was done, I opened my laptop and replaced Hdd with this SSD. Closed laptop and started it, and it booted within seconds instead of taking minutes. Due to cloning, SSD started working within seconds without any further changes. It works great and I can clearly see the performance difference in my laptop. I should have got it done earlier, but I totally recommend getting this SSD if you are still using Hard disk in your computer. You will not regret it, also considering price is within $100 it is totally a great performance boost for your laptop.

Installazione semplice, riconoscimento immediato e prestazioni in linea con un SSD SATA entry‑level: avvio rapido, sistema più reattivo e tempi di caricamento molto ridotti rispetto a un hard disk meccanico.Il BX500 è un modello economico e privo di DRAM, quindi non punta alle prestazioni massime, ma per uso quotidiano, PC datati o come disco di avvio è più che sufficiente. Silenzioso, fresco e stabile anche dopo anni di utilizzo.La qualità Crucial si conferma buona e non ho riscontrato cali di prestazioni nel tempo. Ottimo per dare nuova vita a notebook e desktop che usano ancora dischi tradizionali.In sintesi: SSD semplice e affidabile per sistemi a basso consumo. Non è al livello della serie MX, ma per l’uso base resta una scelta solida.
