The packing rings appear to be ptfe the disc/seat interface is very shallow ( not a whole lot of fine throttling capability, and there does not appear to be a well designed back seat (if at all)). My application is in a low head gravity fed system of irrigation water. The valve body does provide confidence being of 304 composition and the threaded ends are decently machined. Is this a repairable valve ( can you lap the seat, replace the disc?) no, I’d say not, because while you could, the price of replacing outweighs the larger overhead for repair. For the value and Amazon fulfillment service, this 304 2” t-patterned globe valve is a tremendous value. While unlikely to be qualified for ASME B31.3 service, it is likely to pass your engineer’s examination/testing protocols for B31.9 liquid application. If your use case is low head irrigation water, this valve is a no brainer —just buy it.

the valve looks very nice. If you're buying stainless steel I assume its either for corrosion resistance or cosmetics. If its for cosmetics, this is nice. The threads are smooth and properly sized. When I screw in a piece of pipe or another fitting a couple threads go in then you start getting resistance. Lately some fittings I've gotten have oversize threads that don't tighten enough to seal. These are properly sized.
