It works very well on chipmunks, mice and apparently voles
I caught 10 chipmunks, 3 mice, and on vole in the fist 10 days of use with one day netting 4 creature.I used this product to control chipmunks, mice, and moles and voles in my yard. I fill a 5 gallon bucket about half full of water and then sprinkle oiled sunflower seeds on the surface of the water. I do not deliberately put the seeds or nuts or peanut butter on the flipper part. The creatures seem to smell the seeds and climb the ramp, fall in the water and cant escape and eventually drown. It is not pretty but it works. I had previously used a stiff cardboard ramp but that was too flimsy, It is not pretty but if works, One does need to place the trap in a travelled area. At first, I put it against the house wall with little results, I then pain attention to where the chipmunks ran around and it put it in their path and things happened as indicated in the first line. It is a sturdy product and fits a five gallon bucket that is meant to have a lid on.

Don't put too much bait (weight) on the end
Overall quite pleased, and especially with customer service when I had a minor issue. (Tamara at Customer Service rocks!).Well constructed, easy to clean and set up. Tension is easily adjusted via the adjustment screw that will change the magnetic attraction to where more - or less - pressure (i.e., mouse weight) will be required to trip the "plank". The only caution I can mention is that the plank is finely balanced with no bait in place, so be sure to use only a small amount of bait (peanut butter) at the very end so as not to over-balance and possibly restrict the plank from fully resetting once a mouse has tripped it. If you find that it's not resetting properly after tripping, simple add a small amount of weight at the opposite end (underneath you'll find two recessed areas where a couple of nuts were installed at the factory to serve as weight). You can add weight to those recessed areas if you feel it's needed (tape a couple BB's in place or something similar....then re-set the magnet tension). I researched the type of mice I'm catching and they weigh between 15 to 25 grams, so I set the plank to trip at 15 grams.

Catches so many mice, it's not even funny.
My fiancee & I bought a duplex and mid winter we started getting frequent visits from those pesky little tenants that just don't pay rent (Our actual tenant/neighbor is great), and they don't know how to use a toilet so there's more than one issue. We bought two of these, one for each unit. Set them up and within 2 days (here's the gross part) we had caught about 14 mice between the two traps. No one likes to walk into their kitchen and see 7 mice dead in a water bucket.. but there we were.. Over the next week we must have gotten the remainder of the family (or maybe they're so clever that they're hiding elsewhere and have learned to use the toilet) because we had 4-5 more each and no more since. All I can say is.. WOW. This thing works. If you're not interested in checking little wooden traps constantly, but you don't mind the idea of having a water bucket of dead mice that you have to figure out how to dispose of (we essentially fed some hungry wildlife in the woods, I'm sure).. and actually getting rid of ALL of them, this is the trap for you. All you need is this, a 5 gallon bucket, and a container of some cheap peanut butter (and maybe some rubber gloves if you're not looking to scrub your hands from the heebie-jeebies of emptying a bucket of dead mice.

Kind of works. Ish.
This... Kind of worked? Mice don't seem to really care about it. It's inconvenient to bait because there's no texturing for the bait to stay on. The adjustment for sensitivity is kind of a joke. I caught more mice by staking out the place I was clearing of them with a mostly empty pizza box with wax paper in it, a laptop, and an enthusiastic but inexperienced puppy, setting the pizza box within arm's length and grabbing it and shaking it violently when I heard a mouse on the wax paper inside while I was playing video games, then opening the box to let the puppy grab the mouse. That said, it did catch some mice. It's easy to use and clean up, even if it isn't easy to bait or terribly effective.

Did not work out of the box using hamster to test
I really like the idea for this trap. I live in the city and have to deal with very cautious mice. I tested the product on my son's adult hamster. The plank did not dip even when the installed screw was at its highest point. I modified the trap with a small strip of cardboard, used to cover the magnet. The trap worked once this modification was applied.I was also thinking about using something to add weight to the underside of the plank's end.Overall I think the magnet is too strong for mice.

A little rickety, but waterproof
This style 'walk the plank' mousetraps are the best! It was set at the correct setting for me. There is a screw to adjust the sensitivity, out more is easier to trip. It spaces the plank from the magnet. I like this all plastic trap for places with high moisture, like outside in the rail. The wooden traps will swell and not work right. The ramp was a little short to reach the ground when attached to the standard homer bucket.

Success within Two Days, Although Hook Design Needs Some Improvement
within two days of installation, we had our first victim. Easy set up and good directions. The only thing I would suggest is that the hooks that anchor the plank to the bucket could be improved. Perhaps an adjustable hook? We do not have a thin-lipped bucket that the current plank is designed for. We have to use one of our household buckets and this has a thicker, rounded lip. The result is the hook does not latch onto the rim of the bucket securely instead, it balances on the rim. I suggest you use a thin-lipped bucket for stability.

ramps set it apart
The ramps are a nice touch and click together well. Haven't caught anything yet but seems pretty good. I've had some success with a similar ramp before. The adjustable screw is nice too because with the previous ramp I needed to add weights. At $19.95 I'd say its a pretty decent value. These type of traps take some tweaking to get working, I found this tripped once with no mice, a camera would help to see what went wrong. A shroud to go around the bucket would be very helpful I think since mice are athletic some can jump before they fall.
