Great Fun, Well made and faithful forklift recreation
This is a well‑designed little die‑cast metal replica of a forklift truck, with all the key features of a real forklift faithfully recreated. It’s easy(ish) to control, and the 2.4GHz wireless remote offers an impressive range. The build quality is excellent, and the forklift can lift a surprising amount of weight without tipping over. You can switch between different speeds, slow for careful manoeuvring and picking up loads, and a faster mode for zipping around the room. The remote itself is small and sturdy, perfectly sized for a young child’s hand. Buttons are a bit fiddly for adults, but not a show stopper. One thing worth noting, at least with our unit, is that although the battery came pre‑installed with a pull tab, the remote didn’t work at first. We had to open the battery compartment and adjust one of the connectors to get proper battery contact. It was a little fiddly, but once the cover was back on, it worked and offered up no further problems. Overall, it’s a charming and surprisingly engaging toy that really gets you thinking about how to manoeuvre a real forklift. It’s not as easy as it looks, but that’s part of the fun. Both children and adults will get hours of enjoyment out of this charming little toy.

rechargeable and responds well....
Although he hasn't received it yet I know he's going to be excited when he does. He has recently been asking for trucks so he's going to be pleased with this gift. This forklift truck would have received a 5* rating but failed for one reason only.... the remote uses one of those almost useless button batteries. Why there are still some manufacturers around, that design products around obsolete button batteries I haven't a clue. There is no reason whatsoever as to why they can't design the remote control to take a AAA rechargeable battery. Button batteries can be costly as they can't be recharged. The cost is not only financial cost but also environmental cost. Button batteries that end up in landfills will corrode then leak toxic metals into the soil, which ends up in waterways such as rivers and canals. Moving on from the button battery issue, the truck is rechargeable and responds well with the remote control. Although small, the truck moves quite fast and smoothly. Surprisingly even the forks raise and lower with smoothness and ease. As the remote control is small it will be very good for his small hands as he does struggle with large remote controls that are designed for adult sized hands. Although I am going to recommend this product as it is good quality and value I do also recommend that the manufacturer redesigns the remote control, so it allows AAA batteries rather than obsolete, disposable and environmentally damaging ones, if the manufacturer wants to make this a five star product.
