After a lifetime of massive heavy metal parental cutlery, you know, the sort that comes in those plush lined 'canteens' and then cheap cutlery when I set up house for myself, I knew what I wanted this time round:- a) something strong b) a handle in a pleasing colour (I DON'T do grey or stainless - grrr!) c) not a metal handle that digs into your palm when cutting or spearing food d) a handle that doesn't drop off in the dishwasher e) something that doesn't bend when faced with anything tougher than mashed potato. Oh and, f) a decent price, always welcome. I think I've found it. I bought an orange and a green set (I have a green and cream kitchen that permits odd touches of orange and pink.) The orange is a little paler than in the photo; not a bright orange but pleasing and subtle. I was a little wary of ordering green as I feared it might be the modish yellowy 'Chartreuse' I personally hate, but it's a proper retro leaf green. And this cutlery is heavy and strong - you can see the way the tangs continue down to the end of the utensil. These guys are not going to bend in a hurry - in fact I think they could withstand Uri Geller (remember him lol?) I'd recommend to buy this while at this price, very pleased with it :)
