Worth It
I was concerned about this working on my dashboard because I have a 2005 Toyota Matrix and the dashboard is angled and wavy a bit. It sticks great, it has not moved and holds my iPhone Xs in its Otter case (commuter series) very well.

Useful with cell phones with thin or no protective cases.
This product appears to be well made. I particularly liked the 360 rotation and the size. Unfortunately my iPhone 6 has an otterBox case and this product could not grip it enough to stabilize it. I think it would be useful with phones with no or very thin protective cases.

5 star customer service 3 star product (for my F205)
Product stuck to dash for less than 8 hours. Used the included 3M adhesive but was a waste of time.Update: 1/20/19The manufacturer contacted me and send me a replacement, which stuck very well but had a bad rattle sound as you went down the road. Contacted them and they sent me a third device. Though it works well enough, it still rattles. Not the device for me. But that said, I drive an F250 with all terrain tires which is not the ride a typical passenger car will have. The device is exactly what I want, and for $13 or so dollars, it's a good buy for vehicles with a smooth ride. The customer service was excellent and they even offered me double my money back, but I declined as my desire was for a well functioning device, not for $26. They stayed in regular contact which I appreciated. Hopefully they will find a fix to the rattle (which is from the design having a 360 degree rotation). The dash profile is perfect for my truck. I can only hope someone will make this device without the flaws.

Pleasently surprised by this phone holder
I'm always somewhat leary when purchasing a phone holder for my car because so many just don't hold up well...This, I'm happy to say has been a pleasant surprise. It did take both offered sticky pads to adhere strongly enough to my dash, but now it holds my phone quite securely, which is nice because while my phone is not huge, it is a bigger smart phone model than some.I love that the phone can be secured either horizontally or vertically very easily and find for my size phone, I prefer to have it surprisingly securely held sideways. No complaints thus far at all!

Good, but not for small cars
This is the second dashboard GPS mount I bought. The first was the simple but actually incredibly serviceable Bosynoy holder. Since I really enjoyed that one, I decided to spring for another, fancier dashboard mount, and, well... Needless to say, I wish I had stuck with the cheaper one.In general, I found the construction of this mount really clever. However, it's really not suited to my purposes. It's definitely designed specifically with cell phones in mind, and so while my Garmin GPS fits, it doesn't sit very snugly within the cradle. The mount is also not a fan of phones with wallet covers, so to use it I have to take my covers off in order for it to fit.The worst of it is that it's really not designed for small cars with dashboards close to the windshield. I got it for my mom's Camry, and it is impossible to put it in a position to hold phones vertically. It simply does not fit. I generally prefer horizontal mode for GPS-ing so it's not a huge issue for me but it is a noteworthy issue, especially because, without this feature, this mount essentially performs the same functions as my previous (cheaper) mount and it doesn't even do it as well.I'm hesitant to denounce this mount completely, though, since it /is/ a very clever piece of hardware. But, I can't really give it full stars when it doesn't really, well, work for me at all.

The best mount I've purchased yet!
I've been purchasing spring mounted "claw" dashboard mounts for over 5 years now and while most start out great, I've noticed that within a few months springs lose tension, the jaws begin to lock and eventually, the phone starts being ejected in transit and at the most inopportune time. When I saw this design I felt it might be just the thing I needed.PROS:I've been impressed with the ease of set up; the notched jaws that allow multi-angled views of the phone; the ease with which one is able to set the phone - the springs are not so coiled as to make the setting the phone a two-handed affair; the ability to swivel the mount with ease and that this still doesn't cause the device to move in transit.CONS:The only negative is that my iPhone 8 plus is only viewable in landscape mode. It does have a portrait mount but it's reserved for smaller form factored devices.I've yet to try it with an iPhone 7 or similarly sized Android device, so I'll come back one I've tested it.

Easy to modify for Otterbox Defender, etc protective case
As a cabinet maker & home renovator, I work with tools, materials, processes every day. Even though the manufacturer states on the website that this holder won't work with an aftermarket protective case, I had it working perfectly in 10 or so minutes. The holder is a good design & the build quality is a pleasant surprise in the arena of cheap consumer plastic objects. their mix of a couple of different materials as well as the (nearly imperceptable) ratcheting swivel speaks to how well the design was thought out. I drive an '08 Tacoma pick up, so the phone will only work on the dashboard in horizontal or landscape position- no problem for me.My mods to the holder were stone cold simple; i set the phone (in it's case) in the holder. with a ballpoint pen, i scribed or traced a line on the each of the grippy rubber contacts on the uphill 1/2 of the holder. the rubber material is soft enough to easily trim with a sharp knife to deepen their grip on the phone. One optional step i did was to remove the 2 cradle "wings" that pivot on the upper 1/2 of the gizmo. that was also no brainer simple; remove the 2 inside rubber contacts for the portrait hold configuration & push out the 2 "hinge pins" to remove the cradle parts. This allowed me to deepen the cuts a few more millimeters for an even more secure hold on rough, back country roads. Easy peasy. The Taco's dashboard is fairly curved so i used some 3/4" wide adhesive backed velcro on the back 1/2 of the base to overcome the curvature of the dash. the front 1/2 was secured to the dash with the supplied self adhesive material. I can't imagine needing the suction function in this config. Total time start to finish was maybe 10 minutes.
