Replaced broken power supply in a Dell Optiplex 990. Easy to remove and reinstall. Fit perfectly in the case, as it should, and holes lined up great. Would buy again if needed.

I purchased this to replace a failed power supply in a Dell Optiplex 990. Unit works well and an old computer has new life.

PC repair. First one was dead on arrival. Found out some of the DC cables were damaged right where they exit the housing. Several of the rails got shorted. Replacement came quick and works fine. Perfect to revive a decade+ year old PC. But inspect it before you install it!

So far so good, re installing this was not bad on my Dell Optiplex 790. It is kind of crazy that this computer came out in 2011, and here I am 14 years later fixing its first issue. Aside from upgrading the RAM, SSD and getting the highest CPU for this a few years back this little machine has been a beast to say the least. I am a developer by trade and all of my IDE's and tooling and containers and virtual machines run off of this machine without issue. The only thing that I think sometimes holds me back from doing even more is the 32GB RAM limitation. Looks wise this appears to be a almost perfect replica of the OEM power supply. If you have the 790 SFF (small form factor) then this is the right PSU. I do notice that it is a bit lighter than the OEM and that the power port where you connect the power cable is upside down compared to the OEM as well. Cable length is similar to the OEM. I hope that this is as durable as the original as this PC is on almost 24x7x365. The only reason that I am taking off a star from this is that I can audibly hear the fan in this new PSU where my other one was silent. I have read a ton of reviews and it seems like a crap shoot if this is going to last more than a few months, but without more reviews we will never know true durability. I certainly would not want to be replacing this PSU for a few years at minimum. If this PSU does die pre-maturely then I will update this review.

Arrived in one day. Perfect match. I'm no computer expert but even I was able to swap out the old one for the new one. Just make sure you double and triple check that you're ordering the right one. Lots of good pictures on their website so make sure it's exactly the same

The power supply on my ancient Dell desktop died and I just didn't feel like dropping $$$ on a new computer and going through the grief of copying files, etc., etc, etc. Unplugged the old power supply, plugged in the new one. All good now.
