is this permanent (particularly on glass) or will it come off?

Well....it is acrylic paint, which is pretty darn permanent. Glass may be a different deal but would likely require a razor blade to scrape the glass. I’d still be concerned that the glass would be stained where the paint was.

Does this work on steel?

Yes, the POSCA paint markers can be used on steel and other metals. Be sure to clean the surface with a cloth and make sure it is not wet or greasy before starting. For permanence, we recommend finishing the project with a water-based spray varnish.
