Carhartt Men's Rain Defender Relaxed Fit Midweight Sherpa-Lined Full-Zip Sweatshirt

I love this hoodie. I bought a medium. I am 5’11” and 168 Lbs. It fits well, a little roomy. The zipper has a flap that covers the zipper when closed so rain or wind can’t enter. The pockets also have a little flap to keep rain out. A lot of thought went into the design of this hoodie. It’s my first Carhardt sweatshirt and I’m really impressed with all the features. It is almost as warm as my coat and much softer and comfortable. I wish it had more inside pockets and one with a zipper. Aside from that, this is my most perfect piece of outerwear. BTW it looks great.

Well, lets start with dislikes. First, of course I have to say that the sleeves are not lined. I did not read that in the description prior to purchase, however, its not that big of a deal. Second, it does fit a little big but maybe the wash will help with some of that. Its to overly big though, I can manage either way. Now onto likes. I must say, this jacket is definitely warm. If youre looking for a light jacket for spring/fall this definitely isnt it. This thing is nice and warm for a jacket. It seems to be made with quality material as well as craftsmanship. The material is heavy and the sherpa lining is definitely the way to go for a good cold weather jacket. Ive worn hoodies and mid weight thermal lined jackets all winter and let me tell you, I'm upset for letting this thing sit in my cart for so long. In addition to the quality of it, I like the pockets too. I had a dickies in the past that i liked and almost went with again but I hated the pockets. You couldnt put anything in there and expect it to stay. With the carhart these pockets have depth plus a lip sewn over them to kind of close them. The right hand pocket also has a smaller pocket inside of it, which is a little weird but cool. And you cant forget the cell pocket in the inside left breast. You can never have to many pockets. Overall, id say this is an excellent choice for a heavy jacket. Now, all thats left is the durability test. ✌

Was looking for a mid-winter replacement for my 10 yr old LL Bean sherpa-lined zip-up hoodie, which was out of stock until June. The Carhartt version is a lot less expensive than the LLB. Pretty much what I was looking for, although it is a little tight in the arms. Very warm, especially in the hood. I ordered a large, but probably will get my next Carhartt hoodie a size larger, so I can more comfortably wear a fleece zip-up jacket under it (which I can do with my LL Bean size=L). In New England, the winter weather varies day-to-day, so it's nice to be able to have layers. I do like the satin/quilted lining in the arms (like the LL Bean has), as this allows me to wear a flannel long sleeve shirt, and/or a fleece jacket, and be able to get in and out without a lot of friction, which would otherwise cause my shirtsleeves to get bunched up in the jacket sleeves. I also like the non-zippered hand-pockets, which are more comfortable in cold weather on bare hands (pocket zippers are cold and scratchy). Zipper seems sturdy. Outer fabric seems durable, and since it is cotton, it won't get pills like fleece does. There's even an upper inside pocket for your phone.

Got it for my fiancé for a Christmas gift he had an old one that he grew out of he loves it. Keeps him warm but doesn’t make him sweat! Loves all the pockets and the quality can’t go wrong with Carhartt.

Been having this jacket for (I think) 2 years now? Keeps me warm and dry, and the Sherpa lining is cozy! The only issues is that rain seems to absorb into the external layer of the jacket (doesn’t get you wet on the inside of the jacket) and I find myself often accidentally sliding my hand into the mini-pocket on the right hand side the bigger front pocket.

This is my second Carhartt Men`s Rain Defender full zip sweatshirt, but it really is a jacket. My last one lasted me 5 years of outside work. It keeps me dry in the rain and in snowy conditions. This well insulated and wind is blocked. The price for this is better than it has ever been. This is a great buy for anyone looking to stay warm in cold conditions.

If anyone wonders if it is warm enough ?..i found it to be perfectly warm enough for our Winter temps..I have worn it at 12 degrees and not a hint of being cold in the least..It fits great too..A happy purchase for me and for sure..anyone who ever bought a Carhartt.. they know it's quality..have seen knock offs with some even trying to make their logo look like Carhartt..Just can't copy the quality of their items though..

I've had two for the last 10 years. I wear them daily during the cold months. These are hands down the best quality goodies I've ever owned, in my life. The sherpa lining keeps you very warm. I finally just replaced one of the old hoodies.

Sehr angenehmes Tragegefühl, vor allem auch, wenn man in Bewegung ist. Kein Schwitzen drinnen und Regen perlt ab. Endlich ein praktischer Ersatz für die ewige und spießige "Multifunktionsjacke"... Wie schon in anderen Rezensionen zu lesen, fällt das Teil groß aus. Ich habe L für XL bestellt, das aber vor allem wegen der Armlängen. "Innen" ist noch viel Platz für z.B. ein Baumwoll-Sweatshirt oder andere "Zwiebellagen". Die Verarbeitung sieht zunächst sehr ordentlich aus (Made in Vietnam). Klare Kaufempfehlung!
