If you need a soft muslin, this is not. It is closer to a duck canvas. But not as heavy if that makes any sense.

i really need this to be a thicker, heavyweight muslin. can anyone confirm?

This is heavier than quilt making cotton but standard weight muslin. It is not what I would call heavy!
