Fiskars Anvil Pruner, 5/8-Inch Cut Capacity Branch Cutter with Power-Lever Technology That Provides More Cutting Power, Best for Dry, Dead Stems and Small Branches

I recently purchased these Fiskars Power-Lever pruners from Amazon. I use them mostly for cutting the tree limbs up to 3/4 inches in width of a bunch of dying pine trees that I have. Some of the branches are hard as a rock dead ones and some are softer live ones. They work well on both. They perform equally well on regular lighter duty pruning such as bushes and roses. I have been using this design for over 30 years and despite some of the reviews you may have read here, they are as well made as ever. This is my 3rd pair and they have literally lasted 10 years even under my demanding use. I've tried others which are generally more expensive with different designs but I have always been disappointed either with their uncomfortable design or lack of leverage. I've finally quit looking and just buy these when they go on sale. Likes: Comfortable design in your hand. Cushioned grips and very importantly, great leverage and a sharp long lasting blade. And by the way, did you see they have a lifetime guarantee? I actually used it once when one of the pairs I had developed a problem (really due to my hard use). It was an online submission and they simply requested a picture. Ten days later, a new pair! And last but not least the price, very economical for the quality and how long they last. Dislikes: Really only one. Sometimes the locking lever flips up and locks during use. You just have to push it back down with your thumb as you are using them and continue on. Not a deal breaker by any means. NOT a dislike but just use a little WD-40 on them now and then and they will continue to perform like new. Conclusion: Watch Amazon for a low price and buy it! You won't be disappointed.

I have more pruners that I'd like to admit but I recently added this one to my assault cutting arsenal. I leave them in different convenient places in the gardens so I don't have to spend time searching for them. Besides that way I can find them unexpectedly where I lost them! I was very pleased with the results after buying these as they are very comfortable and cut perfectly well; they are brand new after all. They are not heavy duty and best suited for small limb pruning so don't get tempted to use this one tool for every limb that needs to be removed. The action and ease of cutting is very good but most importantly is the comfort of the grip in your hand. The price is outstanding so if you are looking for an inexpensive pruner this is a good choice. Spring time is around the corner and the days are extending so happy gardening and get out there and enjoy your new tool .A new tool for the garden with a new season always makes it more fun, buy it you'll like it

My "go to" clippers for many years. I have arthritis in my hands - quite bad. These clippers not only fit my hands when I work with them, they easily trim branches, etc even tho I don't have much of a grip. Of course, Fiskars quality can always be counted on!!!

These anvil pruners work well and are well made, easy to use, durable, have a comfortable grip and are easy to clean and care for. They cut well the first time and stay sharp. They are not heavy, making them easy to use without causing hand fatigue, helping to get the job done faster!

This item really deserved a 5-Strar rating. This is an excellent pruner, just what I expected from Fiskars! But with one significant flaw (so 3-Stars): The lever that locks the pruner in the closed position is just a little too large making it almost impossible to lock the pruner. It was made in China, but I was disappointed that Fiskars did not pick up this flaw. I wanted to return it since I considered it dangerous to have it be around open. Amazon's site stated that it "could not be returned"; so I chatted with customer service, and explained the flaw. They told me that it was such an inexpensive item that it would be too costly to have it returned, but they offered to send me a replacement. It arrived in only a couple of days, but it had precisely the same flaw! Now I have two. I have learned to force one of them closed with extreme pressure (not sure many could do that since I have very strong hands). Thus, the Pruner gets 3 Stars and Amazon Customer Service gets 5 Stars!

Great quality ... sturdy and reliable. Have used it multiple times since purchase and am looking after them! Very handy for my hands which are a little weak.

These are good, sturdy snips. Look like they go right through a very thick branch. Maybe one inch inch and a half diameter with ease well built.
