I've been using this product for two weeks now, and at two washes a week with this shampoo, it has done wonders for my scalp. While I have not been to the doctor to determine what was going on with my scalp to give you an official diagnosis, the dry, scaley patches that were itchy and embarrasing are now gone! At one point, before using this shampoo, the top right corner of my scalp was the worst part of my head, and I would continually scratch to the point of almost bleeding and pulling out hair, which was beginning to thin. As a female with long hair, this was extremely embarrassing. Again, this shampoo has cleared up the scaley patch, along with the rest of my head. My hair seems healthy and full again, even in the area that was thinning. It looks like there was never a problem to begin with! It feels like my hair has more body now that my scalp is clear of the scaley patches and dryness, and if I scratch now it's out of habit or testing the results - there's really not anything there to itch or scratch. The first wash I did notice a strong smell from the shampoo, which I expected from reading reviews, but now I don't mind it when mixed with my hair products. To me, having these results is worth getting used to the smell. My husband doesn't mind it either. I'm writing this review because it has seriously done wonders for an embarrassing skin condition that I'm sure others had noticed on me. My husband notices I'm not scratching the you-know-what out of my scalp and making it bleed, and says it looks much better. For the results, this is a small price to pay, and sure beats going to the doctor for answers. We will see what happens long term, but for now, I'm happy. If you're contemplating buying this product, and if your scalp condition sounds like mine, then let me assure you it's worth trying this product. Also, a little goes a long way - even with my long hair that is to the middle of my back, so I know this shampoo will last a long time. I hope you find this review helpful and honest!

So this legit smells like hot asphalt. Buttttt it does exactly what I needed it to. I waited to write a review until I had used it for a week or two. My hair has been different since having kids. I dont know why and I dont know how. I had been trying dandruff shampoo and it never even made an impact. Then I got this like thick scaly section of scalp and my hair follicles hurt. I tried a clarifying shampoo that sort of maybe helped? Anyway, this stuff helped! Like I said, it smells like waiting for 15 minutes for some guy to change the sign to slow while they redo the roads. And anyone saying it doesn't is bonkers. Smell aside. First time I used it I freaked because when I rinsed it from my hair my hair felt like straw and I was like oh lord what did I do. But literally the second I put conditioner in it it was back to normal. I did spray some leave in conditioner in it too (mostly to combat the smell). So after my hair dried it looked and felt wonderful. The weird scaly part of my scalp is repairing itself and my hair follicles dont hurt. My scalp is not nearly as itchy as it was and I'm not seeing much if any flaking. It's a pretty large bottle and not a very thick shampoo. The takeaway: Yes, it smells, you'll smell it off and on all day. Yes, it works fantastically. Personally I'll live with the smell, I might even grow accustomed to it. It's worth it.

First of all, once I realized I had a bigger problem than a head and shoulders shampoo problem, I started researching what I could do about it. This was one of the most recommended shampoos and one of the most, if not there most, cost effective. The only downside started was the smell...but read on. So, the first few times I used this I thought it smelled like I was putting tar or fresh asphalt in my hair and was seriously worried everyone else could smell it too. However, I had my husband put his nose right up to my hair and he said it smelled good (and he LOVES it when my hair smells freshly done), granted I put all my other hair products in as well, but I thought I could still smell it. After the first few days it didn't bother me because I really didn't notice it anymore and whatever was going on with my scalp, I no longer had a thick layer of stuff in my scalp. I think it was caused by stress, but the condition got better. At first I could only go a day or so between use so it didn't come back, but now I can go a week if I don't want to travel with it. I took the recommendation of others and would take a day off every so many days to rest my hair from the intensity of the shampoo. I also got some Aragon Moroccan Oil to put in my hair to restore some of the oil back and not only did it help, but my hair looked better than before. If I'm not using the Tgel, I have to really use the oil lightly or it's too much. So it really does help restore the hair without gooping up the scalp. I have tried other kinds of intense scalp shampoos, and although they may have smelled a little better right out of the bottle, this one works the best and it's price point is better. No more greasy itchy scalp. As far as moisturizing, or leaving your hair soft or shiny, it’s a no. My sister suffers from scalp psoriasis and says it has help improve her scalp psoriasis symptoms. I use for greasy scalp. So the smell is awful but not puking awful. It’s bearable. On the other hand my kids say it stinks and that they can smell while I’m using it in the shower. My husband says he can smell it through the bathroom door too, but that when he smells my hair after my shower, the smell isn’t as strong. At first I hated the smell and I was going to give it 1 star, but after 9 weeks of using it, I honestly believe it’s worth 4 stars. Overall it does what it claims to do. A lot less flakes, like 98% less flakes and it really helps with my greasy scalp. I’ve tried many other shampoos for greasy scalp and they would end up drying my scalp causing it to flake and itch. I use this shampoo every 3rd wash and I wash my hair 3/4 times a week, depending on my scalp grease. I gave it 4 out 5 because the smell is very strong while you are washing it. Also the smell lingers in your hair for about 6 days (2 days of washing it with a different shampoo) but people won’t be able to smell it unless they get up close. I would recommend just using it once a week. I find that my Kirkland brand conditioner really helps to fade away the stink of this shampoo. By the way, don’t use any other shampoo immediately after this shampoo. The first time I used this, I was horrified by the smell so I used my husbands head and shoulders shampoo to get the smell out, but sadly it didn’t. It left my hair very dry and my scalp extra flakey. Also the first time I used it, the fumes made my eyes water a little. I ended up using it a second time because it got rid of my next day greasy scalp. My hair doesn’t get as greasy anymore. Now that I’m using it by itself with no other shampoos immediately after, and then conditioning my hair, (about 3 inches away from my scalp) I don’t mind the smell. I will continue to use it. One more thing, my sister says she found another shampoo that gives you the same results minus the smell and it’s called Dermatest PSORIASIS. She buys it at Walgreens. I’ll buy that one after I use this one up.

Finally!! I've had itchy scalp for years but it's been getting worse. I've tried head and shoulders as well as some apple cider vinegar shampoos and althouth they worked well at first, over time, the itch came back. I talked to my doctor, who diagnosed me with mild eczema, and he said to try T-Gel. I started using it every day for the first 3 days and then went to every 2-3 days after that. Inbetween, I use the shampoos I've mentioned above. This has made a huge difference! Almost immediately the intense itching went away. I'm not a fan of the smell but luckily, it isn't as overpowering as I thought it would be. My hair feels soft and the best part is I don't look like I have fleas or something anymore. It's not too expensive, although I do wish that HRA's would consider covering it. I feel like it could qualify as a medical expense. Personal opinion. Anyway, if you have intense scalp itching and have tried other products to no avail, give this one a shot. It's a game changer.

The best support for a head full of dandruffs, I tell you! Used to use your everyday Head&Shoulders, switched to just strictly a shampoo instead of the shampoo+conditioner combo due to my own research. I would continue having flakes, but not so noticeable. It started getting to me when I had to style my short hair and all you can see on my head is white dandruff. So glad I found this! Used as instructed 1-2x a week. Within the first month BOOM! My problem was gone! Yes, there is a smell to it. Yes, it dries the hair, but that’s where a nice conditioner comes into play! Again, you’re only using it once or twice a week! I’ve recommended this to my friend and it’s been working like charm for him! Hands down recommend to all that have dandruff problem. It worked for me and my friend. It’s worked for others.

I'm familiar with Coal Tar products as I've used a coal tar ointment in years past for psoriasis on arms legs and torso. I've found no shampoo that works well for the scalp though and have tried, Selsun and Head/Shoulders products and others. Cot tar works by reducing skin cell production which in Psoriasis, skin cell production accelerates to product excess skin cells and cause the flaking and redness we all know all to well if we have this condition. After just using the first time, the results were VERY noticeable and scalp itch and general flaking was reduced dramatically to the point where I did not notice it at all. I use this Neutrogena every other day and only need to shampoo once allowing it to remain on my scalp for 2 minutes or more before rinsing. Other users might need to shampoo twice as this is what is directed on the label. The scent is not that bad at all. Coal Tar is by nature a petroleum byproduct and has that similar smell like fuel oil or diesel fuel, although not anywhere as intense as those. Neutrogena does it well here by masking that order as well as possible using a mild fragrance that is pleasing and not overwhelming and does not leave you smelling like you are wearing aftershave or perfume. I'm sold on this and as long as I can use this and it is available, it is the best way to naturally (no Rx!!!) get control and relief of scamp issues due to skin disorders that produce itchy and flaking scalps. 5 Stars all around for this product!

Finally, no more scales, no more flakes and itchiness is significantly improved!! I have been suffering from psoriasis and dandruff on my scalp for years. I’ve gone through various prescriptions, steroid scalp oil, calciprotriene, as well tried so many different over the counter options such as head & shoulders, nizorale... you name it nothing worked until now!! I’ve been using T-gel for about 2.5 weeks approximately every 2 days on my hair and I am seeing significant improvement. I still have some itchiness but I find that it subsides as soon as I wash my hair again. I have also just applied some of the shampoo on those itchy spots and let it sit there for a while a few times when I couldn’t wash my hair right away (not sure if you’re supposed to do that, but it gave me so much relief) The first week I used this shampoo, I did find it was leaving my naturally straight hair a little dry and tangly.... so I paired this with OGX thick and full Biotin & Collagen Conditioner. And now I have to say my hair and scalp have never felt and looked this good. No tangles- just soft and manageable hair with no scales and no flakes!! Also, the bottle says t-Gel can discolor blonde or grey hair, but I have not noticed any changes to my hair color which is a natural Chestnut brown (not dyed or highlighted.)

I was very sceptical in getting this one, but after reading many countless reviews I finally made the decision to get it and I must say that this has solved my problem of dandruff in a day which I was facing for over 10 years now. On the first use, I felt my head was dandruff free and it's been a week now and till now I didn't even have to scratch my head at all and there was no trace of dandruff as well (I used it 3 times a week tho). I use it every 3 days alternate... many people have complained about the smell. I understand that there is a small but trust me it doesn't bother me at all, as I know it is medical treatment so it will have such smell. but the smell can be eliminated with any good smelling conditioner, but highly suggest not to use any other conditioner after you use this shampoo, as you have to allow this shampoo to properly sink into your head. Pro tip: get amazon prime if you live in the U.A.E as it will save you huge cost on shipping once you order something worth 100dhs. I got my shipment 2 weeks before the expected delivery date and I am really happy about that. 2) once you use the shampoo let it stay on your head for 1-2 min and massage your head properly for best effect. Highly recommended for people with dandruff problems.

Cumple con su función, excelente para la dermatitis seborreica grasa o seca y la psoriasis de piel cabelluda. Había intentado varios shampoos dermatológicos y no me hacían tan bien efecto a comparación de este desde la primera aplicación. Como ventaja es que su aplicación se limita a dos veces a la semana, a comparación de otros que requiere de uso diario las primeras semanas para hacer su efecto. En su contraparte, tiene de desventaja que huele fuerte y no agradable pero yo lo uso los días que se que estaré en casa y no me molesta el olor
