A bit of a headscratcher
So, I bought these because I read the company’s founders’ book. The book was great, and quite a bit more scientific than diet-fad-ish. It taught me to do a cleaner keto, to avoid sugar alcohols and low-carb sweeteners, count total carbs instead of net carbs, eat only “real” foods I can pronounce, and avoid all vegetable oils like the plague. In the book, they talk pretty extensively about how their company makes bars and supplements for keto because so much of the stuff out there is just high-priced garbage. (Agreed.) These show up, and lo-and-behold, they’ve got 11 total carbs for a bar the size of a slightly-larger fig newton, so much stevia in them dentists within ten miles instinctually perked up like lions on the Serengeti, a bunch of stuff I can’t pronounce and have no idea what it’s there for, and it has sunflower lecithin (aka, oil). So much for that whole, ‘only accept oils from things that are naturally oily like coconuts and olives’ and ‘avoid cheap oils like the plague.’ I’m sure the company’s founders have wonderful rationales for all this, but it seems rather to go against their own rules. I don’t know. Maybe it’s a packaging issue and they should explain it better on the label? Oh yeah, and they taste pretty gross. No almond flavor, no chocolate flavor, just chemical sweetness. EDIT: so, I tried the other flavors, and they’re good. I think the almond butter brownie ones just aren’t. I also think Amazon probably mishandles them (think letting them melt and resolidify multiple times), because the weird and unappetizing texture—rock hard lump sitting in a pool of oil—isn’t intentional.

Overpriced
Before I give out my critical review let me first say that the bar tastes fantastic! Not only that but it is also one of those bars that doesn't make me feel sick like Quest... I work the night shift (12hrs) and this bar has helped me push through each and every night I work. So imagine my disappointment when such a fantastic bar gets slapped with such an atrocious price tag. A box of 12 keto bars for $40? Seriously? The box of quest only costs $25 or less. It is this unfair price that ultimately drove the rating to be one out of five stars. I cannot afford this product with me working as much as I do and needing to eat one of these bars per shift.

Quality ingredients and tastes good
I’ve searched for low carb nutrition bars with simple and quality ingredients and this one is the only one I’ve found without a lot of fillers and inflammatory oils. It taste good enough for a snack or if on low carb regimen it could be dessert! The only ingredient that I don’t like is “natural flavors” and I hope in the future Perfect Keto will leave it out. But for now I think it’s the best nutrition bar on the market.

Be careful which one you choose
Don’t buy the chocolate chip cookie, they are extremely messy, chocolate melts & the bar is hard & poor taste. The salted Carmel is the best one.

pretty tasty
We like these. They are tasty. A little chalky in texture, but I would rather have that texture than some of the other brand bars that can nearly break your teeth. The flavor on these is quite good. I would be a little happier if they were a bit less sweet, but they are ok in that for me. Nice fat content and good ingredients for a primal/paleo/keto lifestyle. I hope they will come out with more flavors soon to get some variety. Definitely will buy these again. I have not had a chance to see how they hold up in very hot weather and will have to wait until summer to comment on that. The main downside is they are a bit pricey, but I suppose the higher quality ingredients account for that. Be careful to read carefully from good sources, who know what they are talking about, about keto and "keto bars" because some brands that say they are keto, are not. The bars, really are keto.

#1 macro profile and ingredient deck out there for Keto
I've tested my blood sugar after consuming plenty of the "keto" bars on the market today, and this is the only one that doesn't spike it. Pros and Cons below. Pros: -Doesn't spike blood sugar -Fills you up, even if some reviews call it "half a bar" - the macro make up is enough to keep you full -#1 macro profile and ingredient deck out there for bars right now -Taste - It's not like eating a real cookie full of real sugars, but if you're in this lifestyle and doing keto the right way, this will taste amazing Cons: -Can melt while traveling - keep at the bottom of your carry on and they'll do fine -Similar to the melt issue, the chocolate chip one crumbles easily In my opinion, the cons are more than worth it for a super clean, truly keto, on the go snack. I keep them in the fridge and put the Perfect Keto nut butter on them for a desert snack. For all of the negative reviews... Eating clean, esp Keto, is a choice and with any choice, there are tradeoffs. Want a real cookie taste, eat a real cookie. Want to maintain ketosis with an amazing ingredient deck and a bar that's been tested over and over to not spike your sugar levels, then have one of these.

Not what I expected from Perfect KETO
I was really excited about this product as my husband takes a bar every morning for breakfast. We usually buy RxBars, Primal Kitchen and most recently his favorite PureTrim bars (very pricey), so when I saw Perfect Keto was offering a bar I jumped in and bought a box. We love their MCT oil powder, MCT oil, etc. BUT these bars are a disappointment. Firstly, way too cloyingly sweet, with stevia, which lingers on the tongue and fills your whole mouth with sweetener flavor. I know “too sweet” is a relative term because every person may have their idea of sweet, but too both my husband and I, not a fan. The bar itself with the almond butter base had a pretty good texture, maybe a bit chalky, my husband said, but that could be because his was cold at the time of eating it. We are returning the product as we will not be able to eat these with the current sweetness level. Hopefully, in the batches to come from Perfect Keto they will review the recipe and realize that people who are keto, have cut sweet as a whole from their diet, so they don’t crave it, so very little sweetener will go a long way. With natural nut butters I would appreciate salt versus sweet. To end, I bought these bars because I believe in the company, and loved the list of ingredients, collagen, coconut oil, etc. Having been keto/Paleo for over 4 years I thought this may be a nice pack and go, or dessert option, but unfortunately, not for us!

Warning: These Bars are Habit Forming
I am a fat adapted "keto" endurance athlete. I was looking for a Keto bar to take with me on rides for BONK insurance. (I haven't bonked in years, but I frequently give my "carry calories" to fellow riders who have) Finding a bar that's Keto friendly is not easy. Most have 20 plus grams of carbs. BTW, If you're on keto, its better to keep a can of sardines in the glove box than a "keto" bar. Anyway, these bars have half that amount. While a step in the right direction, these bars would not make it on my normal diet list, just too carbie for keto. WARNING: This is the kind of product folks on the go use to break a fast with, but If you're not exercising and you break a fast with a fat/carbs/protein mix you are setting yourself up to store fat. Fat storage is not an issue when I'm on a 3-4 hour ride burning a couple thousand calories. What is an issue is the chew. Chewing some of these bars with a dry mouth and breathing heavily is a real chore. These bars have a great consistency that makes them very easy to consume while in the saddle. And the taste is ridiculously good. Habit forming good. So it makes getting some extra energy on a ride enjoyable, effective, and convenient. Bottom line: These sorta/kinda Keto bars taste great and chew easy. I recommend them, but warn my fellow Keto athletes to use with caution.
