All About Spelling Level 3

I've done All About Spelling levels 1 and 2 with my 9 year old. I bought the first two levels through the All About Spelling website, along with the (very expensive) set of cards, letter magnets, etc. My son hated the magnets and we ended up doing everything on paper with just the book. And it's fine. For us, that's all we need.For people new to All About Spelling, this isn't a workbook. It's a parent's guide that tells you exactly what to say (how to introduce new spelling rules, etc.). And it has words, phrases, and sentences to dictate. It's the best spelling program we've found. I highly recommend it. And unless your kid really loves manipulatives and doing school, you don't NEED all that other stuff that is supposed to come with it.

I love this program. It is simply wonderful...easy to follow, easy to use and, it works. My daughter likes it because it is not a lot of busy work, unlike other programs. Some weeks she already knows most of the words and we don't have too much practice work. Other weeks we do more review. The hands-on tiles (purchased separately) are especially helpful for kids who hate writing or are more visual. My favorite part is that the lessons each teach a particular spelling rule. It never made sense to me to memorize a bunch of random words.I am very disappointed to see some people charging $2,000.00 or more for this on amazon, when it is available on the company's website for $40. It's one thing to charge a lot for hard to find or discontinued items but is ridiculous to do so for still in-print curriculum. Buyers beware and sellers should be embarrassed!

This is by far the best spelling program I have ever come across- having said that, folks, please compare the prices here to the prices right on the website- brand new, this book with flash cards and materials is 39 on the website. If you have a dyslexic child- get them this program!
