Drive Medical Blue Streak Lightweight Wheelchair, Footrests, 18" Seat

I am still shocked by how good this wheelchair is. After an unfortunate back and leg injury, I realized I needed a wheelchair, and could not simply shuffle along with my walker while I healed. I, however, did not want a big bulky thing. I'm 5 foot 4, and wanted something I could easily get around in myself, could easily be put in the car without taking up a ton of space, and not require a big strong person to manage. This wheelchair is perfect. First of all, it is very sturdy, well-built, solid, but small enough to maneuver through smallish doorways and down hallways. The wheel locks are strong, and there's even a pouch in the back for dragging your X-rays from lab to doctor and back again. Really, they couldn't have built it better. And the price is better than reasonable.

Exactly what I needed. It’s solid. The armrests that fold out of the way makes transfer easy. Much lighter than the one we rented and the price was just right. The legs lengthen but they don’t lift. I read that in the description so I want surprised. I weigh 260 pounds and I feel very safe in it. The wheel brakes are very secure. I would definitely buy again if needed.

Wow, I'm impressed. Seems to be extremely well made and no assembly other than snapping on the two footrests. Bought it to get some mobility for someone with a recent ankle break and it's improved her life immeasurably. Folds up an out easily. Really couldn't ask for anything more. I think it's a bargain too.

Not a bad little chair when you need one in a hurry for a cheap price. It's a little flimsy on some regards, like the wheel deflecting when you set the brake. But fr our needs it will work in the short term, we'll make other arrangements if needed for longer. Bought the 16" wide version, and while it's fine for smaller people I wouldn't order this chair if for a larger person, it's just a small chair. Came fully assembled, except for the footrests which are super easy to install without any tools necessary. It is heavy for its size, but again, not a deal breaker considering how fast it delivered (next day for me) and its price.

Excellent value for money. Already assembled out of the box (apart from foot rests) which was very useful, you can use it immediately. Rolls smooth and silent. Seems sturdy and well built. Easy to operate and I guess it is comfortable enough for a wheelchair, my first time in one (left knee all messed up). The flip up armrests are useful for desk work. I was teetering around on crutches but this changed everything, made this (temporary) condition much easier to manage.

I am so glad we ordered this. It is compact, easy to maneuver, and works great. It should be fairly easy for someone of avg height and build to pick up this wheelchair to place in SUV or Truck for transpot. I am 5'2 130 lbs and could manage just fine. Very very pleased.

Sturdy, inexpensive and easy to fold for the person pushing. Additionally, it's reasonably comfortable for the passenger. Foot rests work well and swivel out of the way and stay out of the way when needed. Brakes work without trouble. Paint finish is good. Wheels and tires have held up well during use over a 2 week vacation and several other trips/uses.

Excellent chair at this price. I would buy it again without hesitation - definitely a great deal. The seat is well-stitched and the calf-support strap is also sturdy. This strap should have added little strips to pass through the chair frame to keep the strap up high. As is, it may slip downwards, towards the ankles. I am going to add some of those Velcro network cable "bundle" strips to accomplish this. But this strap does work - it is not a deal-breaker. The paint and finishing on all metal parts is excellent. The large wheels are a thick plastic - not the rubber ones like on more costly chairs. this is why the price is so low - there has to be some tradeoffs. That said, this chair will last a very long time - especially if used for transport, such as to and from a doctor's appointment - shopping - such as that and not a daily "all day" chair in the home. It is also marketed as such - "lightweight, folding, etc". The wheels will be very durable for carpeting, tile and smooth concrete. Extended sidewalk use and definitely a lot of use on asphalt will grind away at the wheels. So - a great chair for it's advertised use. Think of it as a "rehab" chair or for when the user simply needs a chair sometimes vs a walker with the seat feature - when the legs are in need of a break.

This wheelchair is a quality product. Solid build, easy to assemble, (Just the foot rests) and exceptionally smooth to operate. Whether self-propelled or pushing someone in it, you will be impressed by how easy it is to maneuver. I am very impressed. Especially at this price point - $212.00

I've used 3 different wheel chairs during my 6 month stay in hospital and a loaner after discharge for couple months. This wheel chair exceeds all expectations. I love the easy side guards that swing back easily with a gentle movement of release lever. The wheel tires are very hard and roll easily. I weigh 300 pounds and there is no flexing of wheel chair over uneven terrain. the only thing missing is a cup holder and cell phone holder but that was an easy fix. There is a very useful pocket on the back of seat for carrying small goodies. And the best thing of all. It was a very reasonable price. Far less than the disabled equipment stores want that start at $1200 and climb up from there. Also folds up very easily for putting into trunk or back seat of your automobile. it weighs about 40 pounds which is a little heavy but manageable. I love the color options and I picked blue . Has an upbeat look to it . it is very well designed ergonomically. I needed a little wider because the common 18 inch feels a little too tight so I ordered the 20 inch and it's perfect. Has enough room to slide a drink bottle beside your hip if needed. UPDATE: I've used this wheel chair for several months now. this is a great wheel chair. it has several features I really like , arm rests that can be moved up and away so easily, light weight, strong (I'm 335 pounds) so easy to fold up and stuff into the car trunk and transport. foot rest positioning is great and so easy to install and remove. There is only one down side which I resolved. ..The wheels were too close to side of chair so I got longer bolts and shimmed each side out one inch. I have big hands and I found they were getting pinched. I do not recommend to do this as it could jeopardize the safety features of this chair possibly. , but in my case it was a must do to make it useable for me.
