SOMOLUX Standard-Grip Adhesive Cutting Mat 3 Pack for Cameo 1, 2, 3 Explore Air 1, 2 Die Cutting Machine, 12x12 Inch Clear

Have only used these a few times since buying them, but they have been great so far. I am using with a Silhouette Cameo and the size, margins, thickness, etc. match the Cameo cutting mats - no adjustments necessary. I’m not sure about using them with Cricut machines. So far, the grip has been fine for what I’m doing (strong enough to hold the material but also easy to remove it). I ordered these from Japan because I couldn’t get large mats here. Even with shipping and import duties it was a great deal. I had read reviews of other 12x24 mats being shipped rolled or folded, but these were shipped flat in a rather large box, so I didn’t need to worry about trying to flatten them. Just be sure you have plenty of free space around your cutter for these 24 inch mats to load/unload and feed through without getting caught on other things. I had to rearrange my workspace a bit before I could use them.

I waited a couple days to review so I could use the mat and get a good feel for it. I have purchase Cricuts mats and was hesitant to try these but I am very happy that I did! They are a great value. They are sticky but not to sticky. Works perfect in my Cricut Maker.

I've been using the 12x12 mats on my Silhouette Cameo and I love them. The adhesive is very strong when you first use them, but I have to say I have not had any problems removing the cut pieces. They are constructed of a heavier weight material and are still rather flexible and last a very long time. I also own a Brother cutting machine, I wish they made mats that work on the Brother machine. the difference between the Brother and the Somolux mat are like night and day. The other bonus of this mat is the price, very affordable. I had ordered the 12x24 size, which appears to be be of the same quality, but at this time I have not had a reason to use them.

I have an older Scan n Cut (CM350). I have been scrubbing and re-sticking the mats for years. These new mats are working great - super sticky. The Scan n Cut needs the original mat because of the markings on either end for the scanning. I used double sided tape to adhere the new mat to the original. It tended to get hung up going thru the machine, but a strip of Scotch tape across the top and bottom solved that problem. Now I can cut/scan/draw/foil without the fuss of taping the work to the un-sticky old mat! Very pleased.

I finally tried doing a cut with my new cutting mats. Right away, I noticed that the thickness of this mat was slightly thicker than the one that came with my silhouette so I was a little apprehensive with using it. There didn't seem to feeding the mat into my portrait however, i noticed that the htv started rolling away from the mat. I made two different cuts with heat transfer vinyl and felt that the adhesive wasn't as tacky compared to the silhouette brand mats. All in all, I still think the Somolux mats are worth buying. I'll trying using a roller to see if it'll make the heat transfer vinyl stick better. If it doesn't, I'll keep these for the removable or permanent vinyls.

I use a cricut machine and it does not fill the entire space of the guides so you have to spend an extra few seconds to make sure it is in the middle or to the left side. The mat is clear so be aware. I find it harder to line your vinyl up when its clear. The photos show that its white and not transparent. I wouldn't have spent the money on a transparent mat. Now i have 3.😕 If you read further down in the specs it does say that it's transparent, but nothing in the description or the photo says that . Other than the transparency and the size it's a pretty durable and well made mat. I haven't used it enough to see if the soap and water works to clean it. Honestly ive never tried to clean a mat...they are so affordable now i just toss them when they lose the stickiness.

So far so good! Can’t find the silhouette ones anywhere locally anymore… I haven’t been cutting much lately so time will tell 😃

I bought a Silhouette Portrait 2 earlier this year and it came with a cutting mat...that my son promptly cut up into a million pieces. I needed a replacement and bought another mat made by Silhouette. It lasted about a month before the tackiness wore away. So off to Amazon I went, in search of a better replacement! This listing popped up in the suggestion list and I was immediately intrigued because it came with THREE mats! I purchased the mats and they came very quickly. That was in October. It is now December and I am still using the first sticky mat, the tackiness is still very much present and I am extremely pleased. I do sort of wish that the mat had the smaller grid printed on the mat, but the large one inch grid is good enough. That is my only complaint. I absolutely recommend this cutting mat for anyone who cuts vinyls or stickers.

**This review is my first impression upon receiving and having used these mats. Review will be updated if anything new happens.** I was pleasantly surprised to find that these mats worked just as well as the original that came with my machine! The mass of the original silhouette mat is 26.7g, and these Somolux ones are 50.0g -- almost double of the original (mass taken without protective covering). You can certainly feel the difference in the two just by holding them and comparing. The Somolux ones are noticeably thicker (and bend less), which gives it a more premium feel. After first use, I did notice that the mat's adhesion was slightly weaker than the original silhouette mat's in that my sticker paper did not get torn to shreds when I removed it from the mat. In fact, I was able to take it off completely clean. There was no sticky residue left over on my stickers either, so that's a good sign. I am confident enough to say that you won't need to de-stick the mat on a fuzzy towel before first use. As for how long the adhesive will last, only time will tell. I usually do small sticker restocks once a week, so I'd estimate a single mat should probably last several months I did cut up an old Cricut mat to use as a DIY cutting mat for my machine before I bought these, but I found that it was a little too thick so my cut settings were no longer right (not cutting all the way through). I was half expecting that to be the same case on these mats since it was thicker, but I was again surprised that my die cut settings worked without a hitch. I have yet to test my kiss cut settings and I also have yet to try out different materials, but I hope that I won't have to adjust them like I did on my DIY mat. My only small complaint is that these off-brand mats do not have the little markings to show you where to line up your A4/ Letter paper, but that was an easy enough fix for me. All I needed to do was line up my old mat on the new ones and draw the guidelines with some permanent marker. PROS: + Thick and sturdy / basically double the mass + The protective sheet covers the ENTIRE mat, not just the sticky area + Units in cm and inches CONS: - No guidelines for lining up A4/ Letter paper TL;DR: Great Silhouette alternative mats! At this price point, it's hard to beat these, and I'll be sure to come back for more as I need them :)

For a fraction of the price of the 'genuine silhouette' matts these are excellent, personally I think they are much sturdier and feel a better quality. I have used them for card, textured card, glitter card and all types of vinyl. I have only used one so far and its still got a lot of life left in it, my silhouette matt didn't seem to last as long. I will be buying these mats again. Good price and good delivery.
