How far can this sprayer spray to?

With the spray set to a wider setting, it easily sprays about two feet. You can set it to a stream but I don't use the stream setting since I am spraying homemade weed killer on paths and patios, I am spraying from about two feet from the weeds.

If they mean that the sprayer does not shut off, whether the trigger is pressed or not, it is obviously a malfunction on the trigger mechanism that stays stuck open.

How do you operate this sprayer? Seems like it would not be rocket science, but it didn't really come with directions and I can't get it to spray.

It’s not rocket science. It might have a piece of plastic (from manufacturing process). Remove the nozzle and inspect it. Make sure you can blow through it. Replace nozzle, put some water in and pump the sprayer. It should spray.
