I got what was expected for the price
It was real good worked well for this motor anyway.

Works for light-duty
It is a cheap way to do it and much better than compressing by hand. Pliers worked perfectly. The ring compressor did take extra effort to ensure all sides remained flush against the block as the oil rings went in. I used it on a Nissan QR25 rebuild.

Easy to use
I used this on my 5.0L bored .030 over so it definitely worked on my pistons with a total 4.030" diameter. It opens up quite a bit more so I suspect larger bores up to at least 5" should work well.

Not beefy enough for midsize pistons
Would not withstand tightening the rings without breaking. Returned for a replacement.

Worked Great!
Bought the ring expander and compressor combo to complete a re-ring job on my Briggs and Stratton L head 5HP engine. Wow both tools worked great without a hitch! Nice that these were sold as a combo package!
