Works perfectly (even with models people say are incompatible)
I bought this converter with some hesitation, since many reviews claim it doesn’t work with certain Cross models, especially the Classic Century. In my case, I tested it with a vintage Cross fountain pen (14kt gold filled, made in USA), and it worked flawlessly: It fits securely No leaks at all Fills properly Ink flow is consistent from the start It’s true that Cross has used different filling systems over the years (push-in converters, older designs, etc.), which creates a lot of confusion. But in practice, compatibility can vary depending on the specific version of the pen. In my experience: It works perfectly with a classic Cross pen with a 14k nib, no modifications needed. Recommendation If you have a modern Cross, it should work without any issues. If you have a vintage one, it’s still worth trying — it might work better than expected. Tip Make sure it goes in with a bit of resistance and doesn’t feel loose. If it sits firmly, you’re good to go. Conclusion A lot of the negative reviews seem to come from confusion between models or specific incompatibilities, but in my case, this was a solid purchase that works exactly as intended.

Quality/Fit/Works
After experiencing ink flow issues with my Cross Century Fountain pen circa 1988, using Cross ink carts, I decided to give the converter/ink combo a try. This converter fit my pen perfectly. I filled it with Parker Blue Black Quink and my ink flow issues are resolved. I have experienced no leaks. My converter shows made in Germany on the label; which indicates a high quality item. I post this review as the Cross site, unfortunately, does not give complete fitment info on this converter. Enjoy writing with your Cross Fountain Pen!

Perfect converter for Cross fountain pen
This converter fits perfectly in my Cross fountain pen that came with ink cartridges. The rotational plunger draws ink from ink bottle confidently without leakage. Works well and more environmentally friendly.

Check your pen barrel...this most likely fits but your barrel may have a cartridge stuck in it
I have a Cross Bailey Light that I purchased from Staples. I did not want to pay for the teeny Cross cartridges since I do a lot of writing for my job and as a student. I tried the screw in adapter (8756) and that DID NOT work for my pen despite Cross's website saying it would. I purchased this one hoping it would work since Cross uses proprietary convertors and cartridges and it didn't fit either....I did some research and it turns out CROSS STORES AN EXTRA CARTRIDGE IN THE BARREL. If you look in the barrel of your pen and there is something there, it is most likely a cartridge and that will be why this adapter isn't fitting. Once I removed it (I used a sharp pointed modeling tool, but you can use any small tool and removed it over my utility sink), I was able to get the 8751 push-in convertor to fit perfectly.

Where has this been all my life?!?!!?!?
I was a few days ago years old when I found out you could use this to convert a fountain pen to one that takes straight ink from wells instead of carts. Carts are convenient but more expensive and the quantity of ink is sparse. Enter this handy doodad! I got it for my new Bailey fountain pen and it worked great! I did have to fish out a cartridge they put in the pens body first, before it would fit. I wonder how many don’t realize there’s a free cartridge up in there? Some people have said there’s a spring in there instead, you have to pull out. Depends on your model…. But I can confirm it does work for the Bailey. It is a little messy, tho… I’ve not nailed my technique yet. I think I’ll use disposable gloves next time lol Now I think I’ll pick up converters for my pilot parallel calligraphy pens too.

Breaks every time!
Every single one of these I have had has broken after the first use. The rubber end that fits onto the feed has always split & leaks ink everywhere inside the pen barrel.

Perfect for the Solo, Townsend and Aventura fountain pens
I got a Cross Burgundy and 23k Gold Solo Medium Nib Fountain Pen without the converter so I wrote to Cross and asked them what converter I should buy. Their representative was very helpful and told me that the 8751 (green cartridge) would do. The Cross price is $5.00 plus 4.95 shipping -- you can order by phone via the rep or on their website; Amazon's was 6.95 and as I am prime no shipping, so I ordered from here. The back of the package tells you how to put the converter into the pen pictorially and while the converter was a little stiff getting in it did so with a little extra push and fit the Solo well, I have had no leaks, and most of all I can use my Noodler's Fountain Pen Ink, Baystate Concord Grape, 3oz. bottle ink so I am happy with the converter and Cross customer service. The converter works as it should, is made in Germany & can be used for the Solo, Townsend and Aventura lines. HTH /TKL

Converted my Cross cartridge pen to a fountain pen perfectly
I won a Cross cartridge pen in a crossword competition. The pen was a cartridge version and I wanted to use as a fountain pen. Previous fountain config adapters I've had on various different pens have relied on squeezing a rubber ink sac to draw up ink into the reservoir and have generally involved a couple of squeezes to get sensible amount of ink and almost inevitably ended up with general inkiness on fingers or desktop. This design costs more, but uses a piston in the barrel and a screw to draw ink into the reservoir. Much more reliable, generally less messy and quick to use. Worth the money with a very nice pen.

Tut genau, was er soll.
Gekauft für einen Townsend. Passt perfekt und dicht hinein. Lässt sich gut drehen. Tine geht rein und über den Füller auch so raus, wie es sein soll.
