ARKSEN 20 Gallon Waste Oil Change Tank, Red

This is a quality unit that definitely made life much easier for me around the shop. Caster wheels & handle make maneuverability almost effortless. It's fully adjustable pan height & I installed a "splash mat" to help prevent "unwanted decorating of laundry", works great as well. With the vinyl sight tube you can monitor oil level & the air pressure assist feature allows off loading contents directly into my waste-oil heater, storage drum or portable container for recycling. I also purchased a "trans pan" with a "splash pad" that fits perfectly atop the original drain pan, and the combination virtually eliminated accidental misses & messes on the shop floor, saving me time, money & embarrassment !.....This unit is definitely worth the cost of admission.Caution: READ the directions & follow them, BEFORE using the "air pressure assist" feature to avoid explaining "how'd this happen" to the wife or burning the evidence !....My only regret, not buying this unit years ago !

Update: May 2015-The seller contacted me to discuss my problem with this change tank. After sending them pictures to confirm the issue, they made it right and sent me a new one. Customer Service like this is very rare these days. The new unit works perfectly.. I am upgrading my review to five stars. With Customer Service like this,I would not hesitate to buy very nice design.April 2026-I like the overall design and the unit works great. However, just like others have reported I had a pinhole in the weld where the plastic hose attaches to the tank. I kept thinking it was the plastic hose that was leaking but after close inspection, it was a faulty weld that eventually leaked oil all over my garage. An oil draining container like this should not have bad welds. Its single job is to catch and hold oil.

I haven't needed to empty the unit yet, so can't attest to the effectiveness of the pressure transfer system, but the wheel's alone are worthy of praise. The large back wheels and swivel front wheels make getting the unit out of storage and into position and back into storage easy. The mechanism that raises the pan is very sturdy. I'll update if anything changes, but given the size of the tank, I won't be using the pressure transfer system any time soon.

This went together pretty smoothly for the most part (assembly is required). It's not super high-quality, but absolutely fine enough for the price. However, there is a threaded hole in the bottom of the tank, which honestly doesn't seem like it needs to be there; it's just something that could eventually start leaking. If you ever needed to empty the tank completely, after using the attached drain hose to drain most of the contents, you could just tip the whole thing over. The bottom of the tank is so close to the floor, you'd need to pick the whole thing up anyway to access the drain plug. Anyway, the problem is, the hole is drilled straight (as in not tapered) and tapped with threads, but the included tapered, threaded plug can just thread all the way through, because either it's a little too small or because of the non-tapered hole in the tank. I could literally screw it in until it fell into the tank if I kept going. The included plumber's tape is not enough to secure it well enough to keep oil from eventually seeping out. Fortunately, I found a brass plug lying around and was able to use that; you will probably need to find an alternative plug as well. Otherwise, it's workin' great!

I purchased this waste oil change tank on 5/2025 and since it is for home use I did not use it a lot.. It worked fine until today when I tried to move the top large valve to drain the oil from the bowel into the lower tank. It was frozen solid. The unit is stored inside my shop and covered with a plastic bag to prevent debris from entering the bowel. This is the valve that is attached to the brass fitting at the top of the tank. Eight months of infrequent home service should not cause the valve to fail. Don't know if the manufacture can replace the brass fitting with the valve but I sure need help. Ifthe manufacture provides help I will update this review.Update:I was contacted by the seller who asked that we please send additional pictures of the frozen ball valve. With a couple of days time I was shipped a new unit. Customer service does not get any better than this company. They stood by their product and did right by their customer. Thank you again. I will be buying from you in the future.

Everything looks good except when I opened the small box with thw regulator in it black plastic pieces fell out and I noticed that it was broken currently waiting for word about getting a replacement regulator and if I am able to get it resolved then I'd be glad to change my review to 4 stars as if every thing would have been good from the start it would be 5 stars* updateGot a full replacement everything good

We bought this for our son-in-Law who had a full-scale lift installed in his capacious garage. The oil change tank is a good complement to the lift. It connects to a compressor easily so emptying the tank into some sort of deposal tank to transport used oil to a nearby oil disposal facility will be reasonably easy. A previous reviewer had mentioned a problem with Arken's oil drain cap in the base of the holding tank. Thanks for that review. It appears to have reminded Arksen to put a proper threaded shoulder on the drain hole so now the cap with washer tightens nicely. As a precaution, we used a bit of sealing compound to make sure there would be no leaks.
