Like going back to the street vendors in Tokyo. Excellent!
Having lived in Japan for more than 15 years off and on in my life, I have always loved the street vendors selling takoyaki and ebiyaki. This Takoyaki Maker reproduces the same quality and ease that were found on the streets of Tokyo! The unit works very well, and while there is not adjustable temperature control, the static setting is perfect for making takoyaki or other similar items. Cooks perfectly and the non-stick surface is easy to clean after use. We do not use the metal Takoyaki picks that come with the unit as they have the potential to scratch the teflon surface. We use either toothpicks or chopsticks sharpened to a point. Easy turning and great browning. The Takoyaki Maker can cook a wide array of similar foods for the balls. Those include everything from shrimp balls, veggie balls, and even mac-n-cheese balls! A small recipe book I highly recommend is available on Amazon that has a wide variety of things to do with the Maker. The title is "The Little Book of Takoyaki" and available at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0316494127 This Takoyaki Maker rates Five Stars for ease of use and cleaning, as well as finished yaki's. I can give it my honest and very hearty recommendation. Bon Appetit!

Great way to make Japanese street food
Husband traveled to Japan and made us all watch videos of people making these for street food. He bought all the materials to make them, I got octopus at Costco and we made em! This was easy to do once you got the turning of the balls down with some chopsticks.

There’s a learning curve... but it all worked out!
Overall, I think this is a great product! There definitely is a learning curve to making this but I’d say the first time was a success! The only reason I’d give it 4 stars is because of the “ease of cleaning.” Because it is all one item, it cannot be run under running water for risk of damaging the appliance. One has to use a sponge or paper towel to clean the residue. It isn’t so bad, but it would be better if it could have a detachable component that can be washed and then reattached afterwards. I did like how it came with two picks to rotate the balls within each hole. Pic to showcase my first batch of takoyaki 😋

Works great!
Works great. Takes a little getting used to how much to fill and how much oil to use. But once you get the hang of it, it produces some some gorgeous Takoyaki... Or Ebiyaki in our case. You will want to make sure you are heavy on the oil so they will turn for you. Out of the gate the first batch, that was what we realized. I would also maybe use chop sticks or wooden scewers to turn them until you get used to it. The forks that come with it could scratch it, especially if you find that you didn't add enough oil and try to use it to loosen it. When ours wouldn't slide on their own with a nudge of the forks we immediately switched to wooden skewers. The next batch with more oil and less batter worked well. They all came out great and were yummy. No damage was done making them. But worth mentioning because we were a bit surprised they sent metal scewers as a tool for a Teflon coated unit. Good to mention this to the people in your family who love Ebiyaki but are not as aware of the fork to Teflon issue. The temperature control seems to be adequate as well. This is a really fun little device to have especially if you enjoy making various types of foods from all around the world. We do, so having appliances making this a little simpler, means we get to enjoy it more often! It really is super simple to make them. Again the trick is just adding enough oil and not too much batter. Don't be afraid to try this out! It's super fun for the family!

Works great, could be better
Made a few batches of takoyaki and it works great. I wish the lip around the edge was taller so i could add more batter. The included sticks are metal so I don't use them to not scratch the non-stick. Only on or off so no temperature control.

Amazing takoyaki maker overall
The nonstick coating on this is AMAZING and so easy to clean! However, the coating scratches easily so you cant use the metal prongs it comes with to make it. It heats up very fast which might be hard for a beginner to get all the ingredients on fast enough. But overall, this is my favorite ive used so far, but the downside it that its harder to make them because of the circles being criss crossed rather in a straight line.

Danger- electric shocks
Product arrive and I noticed its very very light weight. It was very easy to use. The left side burns faster than the right side. As I tried to flip my cakes it was given little electric shocks and scared me. So I switched over to a wooden kebab stick. It still electric shocked me. My batter was not cooking evenly since left dude cooks faster and im scared to flip it. I ended up just let my batter sit until its done w left side charged black in order for right side to come out right. Too scare to flip or take left side out while right side still cooking. My husband tried to do the second batch since he didn't believe me. It shocked him too. What did it was when he tried to put a lid on the batter to try to cook it better, it shocked him hard. This thing is dangerous to use and does not cook evenly.

Great product! Even more excellent costumer service.
+ Really easy to use, turn on. Thats it. No need to worry about temperature or burning. + Easy to clean since its non stick + Came with 2 tongs to flip the takoyaki easily since using chopsticks or forks makes it hard to flip without damagingthe balls - Cooking is a bit uneven, one side is hotter than the other, but all comes out cooked, just crispier on the half farther from the switch - Easy to clean, BUT plate does not detatch so you have to wipe it down and not easily rinsable. Made an error when i complained with CS, CS replied immediately and fixed my problem. Really helpful. Would recommend.

Excelente!

Works great
I made so many during the summer. I tried the pan version but it wasn't great for induction too. Kept sliding about. This stand alone takoyaki maker works great! Stays in place so you can flip properly. Also, not sure why they included metal skewers, NEVER use metal skewers on nonstick. I taped together two wooden skewers and used that.
