Filters - 58837 Automatic Transmission Filter, Pack of 1

I only use WIX filters. Been an auto tech for decades. Seen the insides of a lot of different filters. Oil and trans. They're not all the same - not even close. The only one's I run are either WIX or OEM.

The filter fit my transmission exactly and seems to be doing it's job. But I used an OEM pan gasket instead of the one included with the filter.

Just as good as gm and worked flawlessly, car shifted like butter after the service and half the price.

Works fine, didn't cost much The cork gasket is cheap junk- but this is the case with just about any transmission filter kit you will find. Re-use the original gasket if it's in good condition- the OEM gasket is much better quality. Also the seal for the suction pipe can be a real pain to replace. With this press-in style, you'll usually get the best results by just re-using the old seal as long as it's still flexible and in good condition.

Wix filters are very good quality. I service my Transmission every 20K, I change the transmission filter and fluid. The last transmission service my mechanic used a Big Box Auto parts store transmission filter and I felt the car should shift a bit smoother then it was shifting. I drained the trans fluid and installed the Wix trans filter and now the car shifts the way it should, very smooth and quick shifts and easier kick down when I am passing or going uphill, I am very impressed with this Wix transmission filter, this filter is worth every penny in my opinion.

It’s what i needed, fit perfectly. Didn’t use the rubber seal. I always reuse the factory seal if it isn’t damaged

Gasket was a complete joke. Tossed it out after 10 min of trying to get it to seal. Filter seemed to have fit. The pan was high grade material.

ive change the trans fluid on my 2004 impala prob 5 times now as it has almost 220,000 mile on it. This is a great replacement and a little tip for those that are replacing theirs is to add some RTV "right stuff" to the corners. just a dab will do. the idea is not to seal the pan but to make the gasket stick to it while youre trying to bolt it in place. i add a dab to all corners and even one in the middle of the straight pieces. then i let that set up for about 5 minutes then add the gasket pressing it in place and let that set up for another 5 minutes. it all stays in place and make it a breeze to install without the gasket moving.

The fitment was perfect, I trust Wix to be a quality filter. Reused the original pan gasket as it’s reusable and a better one than the one supplied in the kit.

It's a filter, it fits... what more do you want?
