DANISH ENDURANCE Merino Wool Hiking Socks, Lightweight, 3 & 5-Pack

I ordered a Medium and I assumed it was women's size M. The socks are terrific but NOT a Medium. They are way too big. I rechecked my order and couldn't find "Women's" or "Men's" anywhere in my order. My husband tried them on and they fit perfectly, so we're keeping them. I am hesitant to order these socks again for me.

Nov 2018 - Original Purchase Date: Bought pack of 3 in grey. Bought the 6.5 to 8.5 mens even though my size is 9.5. Wanted a snug fit and they fit great with no excess. 1 pair after washing weighs 53g/1.8 oz/ Backpacked 3 full days in the mountains and some rain. No issues at all. Good cushion on foot bottoms, heel, and the top of foot. Feet breathed adequately with the nylon stocking-like ventilation areas where padding is not needed. I can't speak for drying time in the field because it was wet and overcast the whole time but they would dry fine in the sun or dry air. They hold up well ** 3 Year Update 2021 ** These Danish Endurance socks have suffered several hundred miles and many laundry/dryer cycles in the last 3 years and they are holding up very well. The Merino wool is now clearly looking like well worn wool should look. On ~10 to 12 occassions I have worn the same pair for 5 days straight, backpacking 40 to 60 miles in the wet and humid Appalachian & Smoky Mountains and they continue to perform better than I had expected. Quick Dry? Yes, on low humidity days just like anything else. Hanging overnight on a humid night allows them to dry somewhat. Re-wearing the next day is actually not a bad experience at all. These socks don't stink just as Merino wool is advertised. Comfort? I buy smaller sized socks to ensure they don't bunch up in my shoes/boots and that makes them comfortable for me. My feet never get hot in the summer with these. Holes? None in 3 years. If you get holes near your toe nails... trim your toe nails. If you get holes on the pads/heels of your feet... stop walking around the house with them. The elastic around the lower calf has not worn out at all. Smartwool, etc.? Yep, those are great socks. I have a bunch, but I don't hike with them in the warm season. I wear these. These are higher quality than expected socks for a fair price. If you find bad reviews for these socks, oh well. I just bought another pack of these so I have more when my 3 year old socks decide to quit.

They are very light weight socks, and comfortable to wear. I ordered a size small because I wear an 8.5 size boot or shoe. The fit is good and snug and I have zero problems with gathering up stretched out socks at the end of the day. They stay right where they should stay, on my foot, not all bunched up under them because of stretching during the day. I recommend giving them a try if you like light weight socks. Just order your normal size range.

I accidentally submitted a review on these socks because I confused two sock orders. I wrote of problems that made me decide to return the other pairs of socks. I really like these socks. I needed socks that were comfortable and that wicked out sweat moisture in waterproof boots. These socks do exactly that. I have tried every pair in this shipment. I have worn one of each type of socks in two different pairs of waterproof hiking boots. One pair breathes less than the other pair of boots. Even with those boots these socks perform admirably. In the past 10 weeks I have purchased a lot of models with varying thicknesses from four different brands. I am most happy and satisfied with these Danish Endurance socks. I have been handwashing them inside and out. I press them in a towel and hang them to dry. In the morning they are ready to wear again, but because I have 5 pairs I actually don’t wear them the next morning. I like these socks cushioning and I appreciate the patterning on the socks which helps to make certain the sock cushioning is in the right place. The amount of stretch allows them to be put on and adjusted yet not to move around on long hikes. I definitely recommend these socks.

UPDATE: As I have stated before, I really like these socks, they are my daily wear socks. But during a sale, I ordered a set of three, they were delivered in the manufacture's packaging. The package's seal had come undone and there was only one (1) sock in it. I quickly requested a replacement from Amazon, and they sent me a replacement within two days (great on their part!). But as the delivery driver handed me the new package (I was outside working in the yard when they showed up), out dropped a pair of socks, checked and the package's seal had come undone just like the last one, this time there were only two (2) socks in it! The driver did go and check his van, but no luck the missing sock was gone. This being the second time in less then a week that the manufactures packing failed and contents (socks) have gone missing. As much as I like these socks, I have had to lower the rating due to the manufacture's poor packaging methods. If the socks ordered, do not arrive it's really doesn't do the buyer any good. As you can see in the photo, only one of the tape seals was even used, the first shipment was the same, so this looks, I'm sad to say, to be a common occurrence at their factory. 1st review: Was looking for a good lightweight sock for a long time that I could use for everyday, as well as work for hiking and travel. Found these and after trying them bought 2 more sets. They have become my go to socks this summer. Only time will tell how well they last with daily wear. But for now they fit great and feel good on my old feet.

Best socks I ever had

They’re lightweight, comfortable, and provided good cushioning without feeling bulky inside my hiking boots. They stayed in place throughout the day, kept my feet comfortable, and helped prevent hot spots during longer walks. Even in warm desert weather, they remained breathable and didn’t feel overly thick.

Really kept my feet worm and dry during winter.

Chaussettes renforcées aux endroits stratégiques (talon et pointe). Le mélange de laine mérinos garde les pieds au sec tout en évitant les frottements désagréables lors de longues marches. Excellente tenue sur la cheville sans serrer excessivement.

Was soll ich sagen, ich habe mir diese schicken Socken zu meinen neuen Meindl Ohio gegönnt. 1. Sie (also ich meine jetzt die Socken, nicht die Schuhe) sehen mega stylish aus. Ich mag einfach das schlichte dunkle Design mit der dänischen Flagge als farblichen Hingucker. 2. Sie sitzen sehr gut am Fuß, um nicht zu sagen, das fühlt sich perfekt an. Nichts schlabbert, aber sie sind auch nicht einschnürend eng. Richtig angenehm. 3. Sie dämpfen viel besser, als die Trekking Socken, die ich parallel aus Baumwoll-Mischung ebenfalls gekauft habe (von Stark Soul). Sie sind angenehm weich, aber nicht zu dick für warme Tage. Ich schwitze bis 25° nicht damit, allerdings wird das sicher bei 35° mit meinen Vollleder Schuhen mit Gore-Tex sicher anders sein. Irgendwo sind logischerweise dann Grenzen. Das erwarte ich dann auch ehrlich gesagt nicht. Im Video trage ist sie bei 28° in Tirol, das ist noch sehr angenehm. Meine Füße waren im Laufe des Tages nie verschwitzt. 4. Bei momentanen Morgentemperaturen von feucht kühlen 10° sind sie angenehm warm. 5. Ich schätze, auch in Richtung 0° werden sie immer noch gut die Temperatur regulieren. Momentan laufe ich die Socken zusammen mit meinem neuen Meindl Schuhen morgens und abends auf der Hunderunde ein, in einer Woche geht's dann auf nach Tirol. Fazit: Ich bin begeistert und werde sie sofort wieder kaufen, wenn sie "durch" sind. Ach ja, eine Socke hatte einen kleinen Fehler (kleiner Faden gerissen). Ein Bild mit Kaufnachweis direkt an Danish Endurance per E-Mail geschickt, und eine Woche später lag jetzt ganz unkompliziert Ersatz in meinem Briefkasten. Also auch der Service ist super. Ich habe in Deutsch hingeschrieben, habe verständlicherweise aber Antwort in Englisch bekommen, die haben sich tausendmal entschuldigt, alles easy und kein Problem. By the way, noch Mal an dieser Stelle vielen Dank an den super Kundenservice. Von mir 100% Empfehlung. Sollte sich in meiner Meinung nächste Woche beim Einsatz in Tirol etwas ändern, dann gibt's natürlich ein Update. Aber geht davon mal nicht aus, ich kann es mir nicht vorstellen. Super Trekking Socken.

Ottimi calzini in lana merino, usati per diversi trekking di cui uno di 27 km, nessun problema di vesciche e ancora perfetti, abbastanza freschi anche d’estate, unico appunto è che non hanno destro e sinistro sono uguali per entrambi i piedi, consigliati.
