Easy to set up and get going
The wife loves the ambiance and the "fire" is so realistic, we could not convince the grand kids that they could not toast marshmallows on it.Easy to set up and get going. We have positioned ours in our fireplace and the bulky power cord is a little unsightly and difficult to camouflage.

Beautiful flame effect until it breaks
Had one of these and it worked well for almost a year. Looked amazing. Then it randomly started turning off. Have cleaned it and changed parts sent by Simplex, by it doesn't work at all now. Very disappointed especially given the price. It should not be that hard to make a reliable one of these with available and reasonably priced spare transducers and halogen bulbs when they eventually fail, but apparently that is not something Dimplex is capable of accomplishing. Don't waste your money and hours of troubleshooting time.

Great flame effect on the dimplex cassette
The media could not be loaded. Very happy with this unit. Looks realistic, unlike my previous electric firebox. I added a cracker that I purchased online. This firebox does not produce heat, which I already knew before I purchased it. I looked at many electric fireplaces and to me the water vapor fireplace has the most authentic flame effect. It’s awesome!

Looks like real fire
I saw a display at Menards and thought it was real fire. I always hated those silly electronic, fake looking heaters, and this is COMPLETELY different. I cut a rectangle out of my L-shaped desk and have it on right next to me at all times and I love it.
