Some Issues!
I am an electronics designer and consultant and I use almost all the prominent brands of equipments in my lab. I decided to buy one soldering iron with a cap for the field technitian. I found one matching my specs as one from Priskit! Proskit is a Taiwanese brand of good quality products! But now a days I feel that they are keen in keeping their price tag high to pretend its quality! I bought one Soldering iron 8PK-S118B for Rs.785/- from Amazon! I found some points of dissatisfaction! The power cord is not of a good quality make! The original one has flat pin type international power pin. They might have changed that for India! We can ignore this for the time being!The major disappointment was its shakey bit! A shakey bit is quite annoying while soldering! I have tighten both the screws but still it is shakey! (You could hear the noise in the attached video) I feel that this is due to lack of support of the heating element inside the barrel!I hope that they may correct this in the near future!Note: This is not to defame the brand but to wish honestly to take corrective steps by Proskit to keep the integrity and reliability of such a popular brand!
