Excellent charcoal
Good size coals, easy to use, lit very well, burnt for a good length of time, we managed to smoke a beef brisket for 5 hours and cook kebabs, ribs, jacket potatoes and burgers all with a small about of coals at the bottom of our kamado grill. Good weight, size and quality , good value for money too. Highly recommend 🔥🔥👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

Quality charcoal
Quality charcoal, decent burn time, low dust, pleasant smell and good variety of sizes means that you can combine some large and small pieces in your firebox.

Good Size Charcoal
Good value for money and a good size. I recommend this product. I roasted delicious chicken on the BBQ using Kamado Joe.

Nice charcoal, but it burns fast.
This is a nice charcoal. But it burns fast. So, cost performance is not as good.
User
Good quality charcoal
Really nice quality charcoal for using on the Kamado, just be aware that some of the charcoal lumps might be very large, we had one piece that was approx 20cm * 15cm * 10cm

Not good enough
It's a mix of 20% big pieces and 80% really small, it's easy to fired up and quickly to use, but last sort time, I don't recommend for the price.

WORTH BUYING-LASTS FOR HOURS!
PROS:1) 90% BIG CHUNKS: GREATER THAN 10CM X 6CM X 4CM2) POSSIBLE TO USE CHARCOAL TWICE3) IMPARTS EXCELLENT FLAVOUR4) PAPER BAG WITH INNER PLASTIC LINER KEEPS YOUR CHARCOAL DRY5) LIGHTS EASILYCONS:1) PRICEIf you spend £2000+ on a Kamado grill, what’s the point of spending a few quid on supermarket charcoal. I bought a box of so called restaurant grade lumpwood charcoal. It was poor quality, burned very quickly and was mainly dust. Thus, the box that was half the price of the KJ Lumpwood Charcoal, was a false economy. So instead of being a tight @rse, I bought 2 bags of KJ for a party we had last weekend. We cooked for 8 hours, the same charcoal I put in at 1600hrs, was still going at midnight. Trust me, it’s worth splashing out on this KJ Charcoal. BUY IT, IT’S DOTTORE APPROVED!!!

Good charcoal
Good quality charcoal which burns long and hot. The charcoal itself is always a good size with very little dust and tailings... Maybe a little more expensive but well worth the extra. Imparts a good flavour.

not as advertised
It does not satisfy my expectation. Although it is well advertised and reowned brand, it has stone inside the charcoals which unveiled after burnt which i did not get in other brands. It does not have the long burn life as advertised. Not recommended.

Brilliant charcoal – long lasting, great flavour and perfect for Kamado cooking
I’ve been using Kamado Joe Big Block XL charcoal for over 4 years now in my Kamado Joe Classic III, and I honestly wouldn’t bother with anything else.First thing you notice is the size of the lumps — nice big chunks rather than loads of tiny bits at the bottom of the bag. Makes a big difference for airflow and it burns for ages. When I’m doing low and slow cooks, it just keeps ticking along without me having to mess about topping it up all the time. Gets up to heat quickly as well when you want to sear. The flavour is spot on. Proper clean, natural smoky taste without being too heavy. I’ve used cheaper stuff before and you can definitely tell the difference — no weird chemical smell with this, just good honest charcoal. Also produces hardly any ash, which makes cleanup a lot easier and helps keep the airflow steady on longer cooks. It’s not the cheapest out there, but it lasts longer so you’re not getting through it as quickly. All in all, if you’re using a Kamado regularly, it’s well worth it. Just does the job properly every time.
