h.264 is proprietary and ONLY available to Skype
There's currently no way to access the webcams h.264 stream outside of Skype. I tried uvcdynctrl, v412-ctl, UVCView.x86.exe, YAWCam, and even Sony Vegas. None of them can find or view the h.264 stream. The only other stream available with the webcam is a raw YUV stream which will only allow applications to record at 9 frames per second at 720p rather than the advertised 22 FPS. I would absolutely not recommend purchasing this product unless you only want to use your webcam for Skype and nothing else. The MS HD-6000 is a good webcam for general use with an available MJPG stream, and if you want h.264 I recommend the Logitech c920.

Webcam for Skyping
The webcam worked very well on our computer. However, I was lead to believe (by Panasonic) that it was possible for it to be compatible with the Panasonic Blu-ray DVD player DMP-BDT220 for Skyping on a TV large screen. It was not compatible, and I have returned the webcam.

Great plug and play webcam, BUT no microphone built in just so you know
great plug-n-play cameraeasy to adjusteasy to mountno drivers neededdefinitely recommend this to others for the PC to use Skype, Tango, and other video chatting applicationsNOTE: this camera DOES NOT come with a microphone built in, you must have a separate microphone input option on your desktop, or a microphone already built in on your laptop.... if you have neither, i recommend buying an external webcam that IS in fact equipped with a built in microphone.

Great picture, no drivers required.
Apparently this little webcam performs its compression on board rather than having the PC perform this. It is great value and it really has a great picture. Really has enhanced our skype conversations. Good Jaaahhhhb!

wonderful
right out of the box, it starts working. no CD, no need to do anything. just plug it in and it works!! very impressive. and the picture quality is just wonderful. i have experimented with this webcam with several computers. with the newest,fastest computer,the picture quality is very good,with an older computer,it is still fine. this product adjusts itself.one of the best webcams out there.
