I don’t trust the device!!
Absolute crepe!! It must be hard to manufacture a low cost device which is able to report accurately. This unit is not able to detect live or hidden cable with any consistency. The display is not useful and disappears on detection of what I don’t know.I tested the device on a known cable position with nothing reported however elsewhere on the wall away from the cable it went bananas. If you want to trust this device with live cable detection get some insurance too. Sent back as defective.

Safe for drilling holes into the wall
Had to drill some holes into the wall and I was afraid I'm going to drill the electric cables.This detector is very reliable as it will show you accurate where the electric cables are, in order to avoid themEasy to use with a simple 'push a button" function, will give a answer in seconds about what's behind the wallFor any DIY in your house, definetely a tool to have in your cupboard đź‘Ť

No Back Light
This had some good reviews so I bought it. It arrived on time and I immediately put it to the test. It worked well, revealing subsurface metal, studs and electrical cables. One thing it did not have was a back light. I checked the item description, it stated it had a back-light. I emailed but no reply, I returned the item to Amazon for a refund and bought a different model from a different seller.

Works reasonably well
It does not always report accurately. It reported volt lines when there were none, but less often than other detectors we had used in the past. On the whole, it is easy to use, and works well for metal lines, studs. The volt warnings: I ignored them, put out the electricity and drilled a hole. Nothing there... But the Stanley detector had the entire ceiling charged with electricity...

Unreliable
Didn't work. Was detecting wires where I wanted to drill. Double checked and no wires. Then checked the whole wall and it picked up metal or wires throughout. Was going to buy a cheaper product but opted for this one as I thought it'd be better quality. Had one message from seller but then stopped communicating.

Excellent, works well, bargain.
DIY novice. Used it to put up shelves for the first time in a flat that’s full of dry wall. Easy to use, very simple but effective and great product for the price. Annoying that it takes a 9v battery that is not included, didn’t realise and had to order separately so couldn’t use it straight away, but other than that it’s great.

Easy to use and easy to find wires
Very good wall detector, easy to use. We have bare walls in the house, so I bought some pictures to put on walls and also this useful gadget. It tells you very precisely where the wires are so you hang pictures without worrying that you will get electrocuted.

Handy tool- a must have for DIY’ers
Does exactly what it says on the tin! Purchased as I have recently moved into a new flat and wanted to hang some pictures and shelves on the walls. Not only do you have the sound but you also have a handy visual display too. Worked prefectely and told me exactly where not to hang. Great that you can change to different modes too. A lot better than the old one I had.
