Esophageal Guardian, Vegetarian Chewable Tablets, 60 Count

I've struggled with some pretty frustrating digestive and esophagus issues, especially when it comes to eating, so I've always been cautious about trying something new. My physician actually recommended Esophageal Guardian to me, and I'm so glad she did. Since starting it, I've noticed such a big difference. It has helped me get relief after trying to eat and has become something I reach for when I'm dealing with that uncomfortable reflux/feeling of something is stuck. Needless to say, it has become part of my daily routine after dinner. I am so thankful that my physician recommended it and that I finally found something that has really helped me. If you are dealing with similar issues this product is definitely something worth looking into/trying.

This product is a real game changer for me. It not only works well, but its effect is immediate. I found however, that chewing the lozenges isn’t really bearable without water in one’s mouth. The lozenges have a bitter, semi-sweet, acidic taste that is only relieved by placing them in your mouth, filling your mouth with several ounces of water, and then chewing. The alternative to doing this is to simply crush the two tablets into powder, add the powder to a glass of water, and drink. To that end, perhaps the company may wish to consider offering this in powder packets. Aside from that, this formula is very effective and supports a good night’s sleep without dealing with reflux.

My ENT said I have LPR and highly recommended Life Extension to help. I should have followed others comments before buying. I saw that it slightly foams up in the mouth and sticks to the teeth and gums and that it is has a chalky taste. The berry flavor is tolerable, but the other issues are not. I can only deal with one tablet per night and even that has not made a difference. Sorry I purchased this product.

I was honestly surprised by how well this works. It has been more effective for me than Gaviscon, Pepto-Bismol, or Pepcid. The relief is almost immediate, and it's the only product that lets me lie down and comfortably go to sleep instead of having to sit upright because of heartburn. The downside is the chewable tablet. The flavor isn't great, but the texture is the real challenge. As you chew it, it reminds me of expanding foam—it sticks to the roof of my mouth, and I have to fight the urge to gag. Once I finally swallow it, I immediately drink at least 8 ounces of water, and then I'm good to go. Despite how unpleasant it is to chew, the effectiveness makes it worth it. I can tolerate the few seconds of discomfort because it consistently relieves my heartburn and lets me rest comfortably. If they could improve the flavor and texture, this would easily be a 5-star product.

Very interesting texture, but it definitely helped me. I have noticeably less coughing and throat clearing after taking this product. I only take one tablet rather than two however, as two left me a bit nauseated for a while.

Very chalky and bad tasting. Not sure if it works or not - it didn't really help me. There are better tasting options out there.

I have ordered this product multiple times in the past few years since I discovered it. It has made a difference with night time acid reflux issues. I still sometimes wake in the middle of the night with issues even while taking this product, but overall, I have noticed an improvement. It foams up a lot when you chew the tablet, so I chew one tablet at a time and have some water close by beforehand so I am ready to drink a little water to wash down the foaminess. I also enjoy the flavor, and it doesn't have a funny aftertaste or give me cottonmouth in the morning.

1) I had severe acid reflux. 2) Whether I had eaten or not stomach contents would come up if I went down to tie my shoes or pick up laundry from the floor. I ended up buying an adjustable bed. At night, I slept sitting up to keep reflux down. Antacids did not help. Here is why… It turns out acid was not the problem but the bile from my non functioning gallbladder and a hiatal hernia. This combination would cause bile to come up randomly and the hernia would not keep stomach contents down in my stomach. Enter this stuff. These chewables were so soothing for months. Thank you to the manufactures! I liked the flavor, but I was not picky as long as it helped. I would chew 2 after eating with a little bit of water. I would also chew them at night and again around 2-3 am. It did not prevent the gallbladder from creating random extra amounts of bile or releasing at random times, but it helped keep the contents in my stomach—specially at night. I took this for a few months until they did a HIDA scan on my gallbladder to find the issue. I had surgery on the hernia and gallbladder removal. Then, I no longer needed this. I would highly recommend to anyone experiencing my symptoms!

Hice la prueba con Esophageal Guardian de la siguiente manera: agregué 2 pastillas pulverizadas a vinagre (pH 2.5-3) y no creó una película semisólida en la superficie, que se supondría tendría que pasar para detener el paso del contenido estomacal al esófago. Realicé el mismo experimento con Gaviscon Advance y este sí formó la película protectora. Además, al tomarlo después de comer no sentí ningún alivio, a diferencia de Gaviscon.
