Simple, effective and inexpensive microwave popcorn popper.
This POPCO microwave popcorn popping bowl is very good. For years we have had and used the old school air popper, which is also great. However this microwave bowl also pops well and takes less time to do so. The reason we bought it is because we have kids and this POPCO bowl makes the process so easy that even a kid can do it. We use SNAPPY popcorn and it pops well and leaves few unpopped kernels over the 2-2.5 minute popping time. Cleanup is simple (especially when no oil is used) and the bowl folds into itself to make storage easy. We have done strictly kernels then sprinkled Flavacol on top and also done two tablespoons full of oil with Flavacol added to it placed right into the bowl with the unpopped kernels and that comes out delicious. The only downside to that is a bit more (but absolutely worth it) cleanup. I have attached pictures of our purple bowl for reference. Good luck.

performs well
I wasn't sure about this when I first bought it , but it turns out very good popcorn and very easy to use. Just a little oil and salt with a half cup of popcorn and stick it in the microwave. Nice serving size for a movie with my wife, Simple, easy to clean up and collapsible storage. Nice product.

Amazing product will by buying more
This is the coolest thing for popcorn. I’m ordering a bunch more for Christmas gifts. I recommend Amish popcorn with pink salt and ghee butter cooking spray. It is yet BEST microwave popcorn I have easily ever had

1 year of use: outstanding popcorn, easy to use. Very happy with it. Ditching WhirleyPop for this.
UPDATE:I use this practically every day and the popcorn is still fantastic. Main tip: times vary with popcorn. Better to pop the popcorn slightly less time and leave a few more unpopped kernels (which I then pop for 2 minutes).Right now, on my microwave, I pop it at 2'45". You know when its ready to come out when the popping just begins to slow down. You just have to find the right timing for you. If you overcook, then the popcorn is burnt. That has happened maybe 2 or 3 times, when I wasn't listening to the poppping.Anyhow, this is one of the better investments I have made and highly recommend it in preference to other methods of popping corn!ORIGINAL REVIEW:I was skeptical about this because I am somewhat of a popcorn perfectionist. I had been using the Whirley-Pop for years, hand-cranking to get the best possible popcorn, but this Popco is as good if not better, and much easier. It does take a little time to figure out the right time and power for your Microwave. I use regular power for 3'27". Puffy kernels, perfectly popped throughout the whole batch. Maybe A relatively small number of unpopped kernels. I usually run the unpopped ones for another two minutes. The ones I re-pop are slightly overdone, but still worth re-popping.

For Those on the Quest for Theater Popcorn
THE GOOD: After decades of trying to find microwave popcorn that replicated theater popcorn, I had essentially given up. I looked into the standalone popcorn poppers but the price point eventually made me give this is a shot and it works beautifully. Just a 1/4 cup of regular kernels with 2 tbsp of oil is all you need to get a nice bowl of popcorn. I have found it takes a little bit longer than microwave popcorn but I do think the end product is better overall. From there, I purchased a jug of actual movie theater butterlike topping (also available here on Amazon) and I believe I have FINALLY replicated theater popcorn! Calorie-wise, it is pretty much the same as microwave popcorn, but COST-wise, with kernels, jug o'butter topping, oil, and this popper, I save around 70 cents/serving compared to the bagged microwave popcorn, and $8-$10 compared to theater popcorn.THE BAD: I wish the silicone was a little sturdier/less flimsy. It doesn't seem to effect the performance of the item but it's just my personal preference. You'll also need to experiment with your first few batches of popcorn to get the timing perfected.THE UGLY: As I mentioned before, it takes a little longer to pop than microwave bag popcorn. My microwave makes the bag popcorn in around 2:15-2:30 minutes, with this it's around 4 minutes. I also think there are fewer unpopped kernels with this, but that is likely attributable more to the corn than the popper in my opinion. The VERDICT: If you enjoy popcorn on a semi-regular basis (I eat it monthly) and want to keep tabs on all the ingredients you put into your body, this is likely a good option for you. If you are on the quest for theater-popcorn replication like I was, this is a good first step towards that goal. However, if you are an every-once-in-a-while popcorn eater, you may want to just stick with the bag stuff.

Loved mine so much I needed more.
My husband (and me) go this as a White Christmas gift. I didn't think I'd like it, but after the first time I used it I fell in love. I fell in love so much I got one for my mom, and two more for me (so I always have a clean one.) I love fresh popped popcorn, but you can't do it on a glass top stove. A stir crazy makes to much. This is the answer to both of the above issues since you put it in the microwave. I love that it can be put in the dishwasher. That's always a plus in my household. If you like fresh popcorn and have a glasstop stove and/or don't want to pull out the stir crazy everytime; which isn't diswasher safe, this is the solution you've been looking for.
