An incredible album
I don't know why this isn't more widely available, but this album is amazing. The CD is from a live concert, and its a journey that you must experience from beginning to end, without skipping around. The album I received was in perfect condition so I've had no problem listening to it over and over and over and over and over. It's a great album to listen to while running. This was what I listened to while training for my last two marathons. Now, I've let myself go, and I can barely run two miles, but I still enjoy this music. I listen to it on long car rides instead. It's fantastic!

Great Music. Good Times.
I listen to this album alteast once a day. I work from home so I get to listen to music at least 6 hours a day. This album is a staple for me and I can't get enough of it!I love the fact that they recorded the people partying in the background. It makes you feel like you've been part of the crowd and actually there.Great music. Good times.

"Great live gig"
Now this is how a live recording should be. None of that compilation-from-different-performances bull - but just one night, one set and 30,000 people, with all the perfections and mistakes. Many know that Fatboy Slim is up there with Radiohead, U2 and System of a Down in terms of great live gigs, but unlike most of his performances, his appearance at Bright Beach saw him, uncharacteristically, playing not only favorites like "Star 69" and "Sunset (Bird Of Prey), but some Norman Cook's favorite techno tunes from the `90s, including his renditions of tracks by Basement Jaxx, Santos, Underworld, Letfield and Raven Maize amongst others. Opening with a shortened, slower version of the Trainspotting classic "Born Slippy", the album kicks into full gear with a more upbeat rendering of the DJ's own "Right Here Right Now" that obviously got the crowd going quite a bit. Cook proceeds to perform a similar act throughout the rest of the album, redefining celebrated DJs' greatest hits in his own innovative way. There really isn't much of a track definition in terms of different tunes, with numerous songs overlapping each other. Notably, a tune like "Where's Your Head At?" is listed on the back as being track eight, but can be heard more evidently on track's seven and nine, making the CD more suited to a party situation rather than you just sitting at home with your headphones on. If you're a fan of Fatboy Slim - and we don't mean You've Come A Long Way Baby - then you'll surely find some great aspects in this live recording. If you're only preference to the DJ is "Rockefeller Skank" then we recommend that you stick to listening to J-Lo.

Just Buy Simple Minds
This is the live album of a TV show of a free performance that DJ Norman Cook threw for 40,000 people on Brighton's uncomfortable pebble beach in July 2001. Since dance music at its best is holiday music and most English people have deserted England's gray shores for the balmier nights of the Mediterranean, Ibiza would have been the natural place to record this kind of event, but that would have been too obvious. Setting it in a decayed Regency town lends an extra twist.Only 3 of the 14 tracks have some compositional input by Fatboy, and as with his studio albums, this mainly consists of deft sampling rather than any real writing. In short, Cook knows how to get other people to do his work for him.The standout track is "The Real Life," and though we should be thankful to Norm for playing and mixing it a bit and to Raven Maize for 'creating' the track, about 80% of the song basically consists of samples from a great 1981 Simple Minds track (title deleted by Amazon for some obscure reason), which sounds even better than the watered-down version here.

Faithful recording of the actual event
I was there on the beach that night. I listen to the album often and it brings it all back. The CD is a faithful recording of the way the evening went, even including the police announcements in the middle telling people to get out of the water (it's a shame the CD can't show Fatboy Slim's written messages on the big screen telling everyone to ignore the police). The audio is excellent quality, not much crowd noise audible over the music. It was a brilliant and varied set with tonnes of energy. The tracks are properly mixed, so skipping tracks ruins the rhythm. Listen to it start to finish!
